Fiesta Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Somerset

Just discovered this restaurant today. I was totally blown away by our level of service from Ulises. The man finished my sentences when I verbally fumbled ordering my food. When he ghosted by our table we'd get fresh glasses full of Pepsi. I didn't even have to ask for a to-go box. He just knew, and the next time he passed by our table a to-go box was in front of me. It was all so magical. My husband kept telling me it was because there weren't many people at the restaurant, but I disagree. The entire staff was friendly and attentive, and they called us "amigos" any time they addressed us. Needless to say, the atmosphere was great.

Regarding the food: I was so excited about their cheese dip. It was actual melted cheese! (I had been somewhere else that gave me what-tasted-like powdered cheese, and I've been weary ever since) we both got chimichangas which were delicious and huge with rice and beans and a tiny bowl of guacamole and sour cream on the side.

If you're torn between churros or fried ice cream for dessert I recommend the churros because it comes with a scoop of ice cream and tiny bowls of chocolate and caramel to dip the churro sticks into. The ice cream and fresh churros taste like fried ice cream if you portion them onto your spoon just right. And if your husband overeats like mine did today then you'll get most of this delicious dessert to yourself!

I can't recommend this place enough. Thank you for such excellent service, Ulises! And thank you, Fiesta Mexican Restaurant, for restoring my trust in Mexican restaurants in this area!

So the food was pretty good, but the service was not great, we were seated; our drink order was taken by the guy who seated us, so we figured he was our waiter. When he returned he took our order, the food came out rather fast but it was by another gentleman. While our waiter sat at the bar watching a hockey game. He never returned to check on us, or even to bring our bill, I could see the kitchen which the floor looked nasty 🤢. We had to ask the guy who brought our food out for condiments, he was friendly, I think he was the bartender. Then for about 10 minutes there was no staff around. They came back and sat at the bar and played on their phones we had to ask for our check as we had finished eating for a while. We didn't know. Who was going to get the tip so we made sure to give it to the bartender who helped us. Not sure if this is a regular thing here but I don't know if I would return. I will have to try out the fall river location. Other than the subpar service the food was great and came out...

THE SERVICE:

Online ordering was seamless to include making substitutions. The pickup experience was friendly and efficient. Our order was ready at the designated time, and the dinners were packaged well.

THE FOOD:

The Burrito Loco with steak dinner was packed with protein and flavor. The steak was tender and seasoned perfectly. The sautéed vegetables added a welcomed texture contrast.

Note: I ordered the salsa’s on the side and not topped on the burrito.

The accompanying sides were very good. The Mexican rice and refried beans were savory delights.

The Birria tacos were average in taste, but satisfying. The mango habanero wings were savory and sweet with a pinch of heat. The chicken tasted like commercial wing dings that were dipped in a very tasty sauce.

THE VALUE:
