Kris's Kountry Kitchen — Restaurant in South Bend

So long awaited and totally devastated....

I use to live local and bought these cookies multiple times a week. With 4 kids, we ate our fair share, to say the least. 😅 Even after we moved, I did what I could to seek them out. (The Blueberry Fest and gas stations, etc.) I have tried several times, to catch the store open, while doing errands in South Bend, but never seem to time it right. I finally got a chance to have some yumminess today. (Well, so I had anticipated.) I got home, opened the box and frumped! 😔 The cookies were only ⅛" thick and had a 1/16" of flour residue, on the bottom. The frosting was still as delicious as I had remembered, but I couldn't even taste the cookie. Maybe my next chance meeting, they will be the normal ¼" that a sugar cookie should be and I can experience that wonderful...

Seeing a small, family-owned business perpetuating racism so proudly and publicly is truly heartbreaking. I approached them yesterday, asking what the history behind their KKK namesake was. I was given a flimsy, lazily constructed excuse that "30 years ago everything was spelled with a K." Now while I cannot attest to this bizarre claim, I can say with certainty that it is within their power to undergo a rebranding, something as minor as changing "Kountry" back to its ORIGINAL spelling to avoid any correlation with the cowardly and pathetic hate...
