Never been here before. Thought I wanted a pizza but the fish-n-chips caught my eye with a description of a large haddock plank. So I ordered it and it was the best. Large hot perfectly cooked haddock with fries. Huge fish plank. Salt these days usually bothers me and I forgot to say no salt. Fries had salt but just enough where it didn’t bother me and I got to have salt on my fries. Oh I added the Ketchup in the picture.
Sophia is fantastic. She even shared a little about her Polish heritage and when she came to America. So I enjoyed sharing with her when she got to my table of being born in Germany, living in Berlin and my family over there living in Munich.
I sat and watched her gorgeous interaction with guests. Offering to create a Cherry Pepsi cola for a guest who wanted what Eleni’s didn’t have.
My new fish Friday dinner location.
Feb 28: Arrived for my Friday fish dinner. Eleni’s looked pretty busy. There were guests at the counter so I barely got through the door and service grabbed me instantly. As I gazed over a few shoulders, a counter top and a servers shoulder the eyes of someone else locked eyes with mine. She quickly scurried around the counter and ushered me into the dining room before I could say a word. It was Sofia the Wonder Waitress.
I said, hi, but she was off to seat me with me following close behind. She knew before I actually requested it, a booth. To my surprise it was the booth I sat at on my first trip to Eleni’s and the night of my first review of Eleni’s. I commented on that, as Sofia re-wiped an already clean table. My next surprise, as Sofia turned she said, Diet Pepsi. What a waitress. She even remembered my drink. Sofia then quickly said the fish and chips as I was saying Fish Friday and I don’t think I ever got it all the way out. I don’t remember. With my jaw dropping. I don’t remember, and don’t care. The rest of dinner was followed up with frequent trips to make sure I had drink and everything I needed. That’s her usual Wonder Waitress service.
This is more than a quaint restaurant with 4.6 internet stars but just might be an actual 5 star restaurant.
Oh, there’s definitely another unsung hero. 3 Fish and Chip dinners all cooked fantastically the same, all 3 times. If he holds the job title of cook I think it needs to be changed to Chef.
I’ve rated and reviewed restaurants, businesses, and retail stores from Kansas City to South Florida with now over 1 million views of my reviews on Google Maps. I don’t think I’m to far off here. I hope I can continue to get a booth at Eleni’s.
And, I’ve never gotten personal in my reviews but, if I knew, when I was 25, what I know today I would have never married my now ex… Eleni’s with out a doubt would be a great first date restaurant for...
Read moreI'm resorting to a Google review because my email to the owner has gone unanswered. It would be great if y'all would reach out or reply to my email.
I began ordering online from Eleni's only several weeks ago as I began to serve dinner at my place of work. I am a firm believer in supporting local businesses, it's difficult to find local restaurants that deliver to my location, and I always liked Eleni's food. I was excited to serve Eleni's food at my establishment!
My first three orders and all of my colleagues orders from her shifts were delicious with no issue as far as quality or delivery. I've had a few different pizzas and I got the catering sized Chef Salad. The food is delicious! I enjoy supporting local businesses rather than corporate and thought I found myself a great local biz to support.
Imagine my surprise when my colleague stopped in a few days ago to inquire about catering sizes of some entrees and to place an order for OUR local business. The employee told her we were on a list for not tipping! I'm not sure what that means as far as us being able to order or to get delivery but I find it distasteful for an employee to relay that kind of info without further explanation. At least have the owner or a manager handle that task so we can get more info and possibly clear up the situation.
We have tipped EVERY time since we began ordering only several weeks ago. This was very upsetting.
So I emailed Max to assure that we always tip and to either remove us from the "list" or to call me to discuss and I have received no reply. But that very same night I sent Max the email- I put in my fourth order.
We will continue to order because it's difficult to get local delivery for my location and as I've mentioned, my customers enjoy your food. BUT- if Eleni's does not want to do business with me because you think your driver's aren't being tipped- well, you might want to find out if it's even true first. At least that's what I'd do as a biz owner.
Thanks! Thank you Maxim for your reply and I don't want to belabor this issue but I do want to let you know that I can show you receipts to prove that I have always tipped...
Read moreIn reply to the owners comment, not a fan of the condescending words you used against me; you have no idea who I am so what's the point of saying I have no clue? Maybe it helps your business to make your customers look bad. You could have used the reply comment to try and make things better. You could also use the reply comments to thank other customers for good reviews. Terrible professionalism shown; I hope it gets better. Feel free to continue serving something people can buy in a bag at the store and be happier, but since you asked, I get produce from Geraldson community farm and Aldi. If you're interested in a farm, there's a few great ones near you like Jessica's. Lastly, your business can have the 1 $ AND have great service and high quality products. The 1 $ is no excuse, but that does depend on the leader/owner. (08/07/17).
Gave one star because I have to and the service was quick, though poor. I was not greeted when I walked in the door. The woman taking my togo order hardly looked at me because she was busy with other things, which is fine but she didn't know what was on a side salad and didn't offer to find out, which I found out is from a bagged salad mix upon receiving it- not fresh. Also I had to ask for the salad before I walked out because my order probably was not checked before it was given to me. I ordered a wrap, which was unfortunately so so soggy. I'd go ahead and say nothing is fresh, even the desserts come frozen in boxes, so I'd give a cold shoulder to the "Greek" on the sign. I'm Greek, and disappointed. It should say "imitation Greek", maybe even "imitation food". Not impressed with expensive fast food, will not be returning nor...
