This was our first visit since moving to Piedmont. We had been by several times and there was always a good crowd. We stopped in today off peak at about 2:30pm. There was only one other customer. We sat ourselves ( which is always nice to pick your own spot) and were promptly greeted by a nice young man who brought our drinks as well as a basket of fresh, WARM tortilla chips and 2 different salsas. The chips were fantastic and salsa was fresh and good. Very fine, thin type of salsa, not chunky. Neither were spicy. The one served in a small carafe was, perhaps, just a bit hotter. The restaurant is charming and very clean. Seating ( we chose a booth) was very comfortable. While looking over the extensive...and impressive....menu the owner, Elmer, stopped by the table to greet us and introduce himself. He is a very sweet man and told us about his restaurant and how everything is from scratch and a bit about Piedmont, too. The smell of the food in the air told us real good, authentic things were coming! We really enjoyed meeting and speaking with him. I ordered the steak and onion quesadilla and some guacamole on the side. The quesadilla was great. Fresh made tortilla, perfectly crispy and browned. Well stuffed with tender, well seasoned steak, grilled onions (yummo!) and the perfect amount of a VERY flavorful cheese. The guacamole was fresh and had good garlic flavor. I like it to have tomato and onion in it so should have ordered the guac with pico, as noted on menu. Not a big deal, as it was still great. My hubs doesn't normally eat it but he kept dipping his chips in it. I think the garlic flavor swayed him. He ordered the El Combo special combination plate which was HUGE! It had one of just about everything and came on 2 plates! The accompanying refrieds were creamy and good and the rice was FANTASTIC. Light and fluffy with great flavor. I'm not much for the rice usually but this was very good rice. My husband enjoyed all of the various sauces and each of the offerings. His only negative comment was there was "a bit too much cheese on the Chile relleno". I'm sorry but if too much cheese is wrong .......I don't want to be right!! Lol. The service was great. Elmer brought our food to the table himself. The prices are quite reasonable for the freshness and quality of the food. It is so nice to have such a wonderful local place to visit for a great meal that doesn't cost a small fortune today. That means we can pop in more often! And we surely will. Elmer and family, we thank you kindly for your warm hospitality and a delicious meal. See you...

We called in our order and ordered 2 tacos and some other items. Got our order and it was kind of high, but paid and went home. Looked at the menu they gave us with our order and saw you could get 3 tacos for $.25 more. I called to complain because I thought good customer service would mean the person taking the order would tell you that. And since I was only up there an hour ago could I come back and get a third taco for a quarter. I was not rude, mean, anything. Abby told me that the prices are on the menu and it's not her fault and I'm out of luck basically. I asked for a manager and she said there was no manager there that tonight. Which sounds like a lie to me. I told her that basically good customer service is if the customer has a complaint that you at least compromise to make them happy. I mean all they had to do was refund my 2 taco order and ring 3 and give me a taco no big deal, but she decided to be a rude individual who obviously doesn't care if we visit their restaurant again. So we won't. We've been customer over 10 years and the reason we haven't been in a while is because last time my husband picked up an order they didn't give him chips, he went back as they were closing up and they were cleaning and they wouldn't even give him chips. Also food is not great anyway. Not worth bad...

The food was great. The waitress was nice but messed up my order. Myself and my two children wandered in one Sunday afternoon. I ordered theirs first, because I was still deciding. They ordered the similar options, so I guess she thought to only put in one order for them. The owner, or whom I'm assuming is the owner, came and took my order. Our food came, but only mine and my oldest son's. She did not put in my youngest son's order. I gave him a portion of mine because I knew I wouldn't eat it all anyway. By the time that my oldest son and I finished, my youngest son's order still had not arrived. We waited and waited, since I had somewhere I needed to be I decided to tell them to make it to go. The owner apologized and the meal was free. The owner, was extremely nice and I know that things happen and mistakes are made. The food was excellent, the owner was very nice, apologetic and accommodating. No one is perfect, had it not been for this blip I would rate 5 stars. I won't count them out. I will try them again, because the taste of the food alone is...

I don't know what is going on with Cancun, whether it is staff not knowing what they are doing or that don't like me. I usually go in and dine and I qlways have to call someone to come to my tsble to service what I need because the staff is chatting away ir on their phone. Today my friend and called in, he order lunch # and I #4. We got back home and we had the same thing and it looked like dog vomitus. A sliver of a chile reno, so I called and spoke to the lady manager, she stated 1 & 4 were the same foid, nit by the menu it isnt. I told her what it looked like and what it was lacking and she says yeah that's the way they mske it. NO IT ISN'T! I HAVE HAD WITH THAT STAFF, SO I AND OTHERS WILL NOT PATRON THE BUSINESS ANYMORE. GOOD LUCK TO ANYONE ELSE.

I arrive at 2:20 10 minutes before the lunch special ends. The food comes out and it's room temperature I have to wait until the server looks up from his phone to get him over there to pop it in the microwave. The food was good if only I had something to wash it down with he went back to his phone and never refilled my water. I took my time eating and reading email. Went to pay and was charged $1 extra. In response she says lunch special is $1 extra after 2:30 and it's almost 3. I was shock. I ordered before 2:30.... Do I have to pay before then to get the lunch price? But I would have paid more than $1extra to have ANYTHING to drink with my food.
