My goto opinion of Mexican Restaurants is judged on two items that I absolutely love, the side dishes: Beans & Chili's Toreados. There was a bit of confusion over Chili's toreados because the server didn't know what it was: He called it fried chopped jalapeños (But I requested fried whole: Chili's Toreados) They made good on it. The beans when compared to other similar restaurants were above par, not quite what I call, the best. The sugar free Tea was weak, not much tea flavoring and seemed cut with too much water. Now that the negatives are out of the way... I have nothing but praises for everything else, and you can see what we got in the pictures. The Atmosphere is great, very authentic, a pleasure to look at and very beautiful. The service was great and our server went far and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and wanted. The food quality was superb, and spiced appropriately for locals, sadly that means not as spicy as I like. But, I observed the place was full, and I believe the spice level is appropriate for the locals. IOW, if you're not into hot and spicy, you'll love it. That said, the chip sauce, like most places was mild, and the picante was very pleasantly hot. A hotter, muey picante version is available if desired. Overall I felt I should give another half star, not seen in my rating. We will go back here again if for no reason than the atmospher, service and quality food! What an absolutely terrible dining experience. My mom (85) made reservations for 12:15 today (Mother's Day 23). 17 of us. Arrived and no one knew of reservation. Eventually found it and seated us at 12:30. We had one waitress who was nice at first, took our drink orders and brought drinks. 35 minutes later came back to take our lunch orders. By that time we were all out of drinks and chips and no one was offered refills on them. 20 minutes later one order arrived at the table. 16 others still waiting. The wait? Another 1 hour and 30 minutes. Why didn't we leave? Well it's hard to get a table on Mothers Day. Once our food came the plates were so hot from sitting under warmers that you literally couldn't touch them. Food was crusty from warmer overheating. We did our best to eat what would have actually been good food had it been presented to our table promptly. After delivering our food we never saw our waitress again. We waited and finally got another waitress to check us out. Turns out our waitress went on a lunch break and left us there to wait. (Owners we were at table 25). Absolutely the worst dining experience any of us have ever had. Worse than that it ruined a Mother's Day celebration for the family after driving 3-5 hours per sibling to dine at a restaurant our mother said was good. 3 hours and 30 minutes to mostly fend for ourselves and hunt for wait staff....

The place looks like it would a lot better from the outside. Don’t get me wrong our food was satisfactory, but the service was subpar. The place wasn’t packed so our server could’ve been more attentive. The only time she came back fairly quickly was to collect payment and tip. Worst of all, after we finished our meals, she just put the bill on our table-didn’t ask if we wanted anything else. It really irked me because it was my birthday and I would’ve liked dessert. While she had no way of knowing this, since when did servers stop trying to pad the bill? We felt rushed so we paid and got...
