CHINA STAR — Restaurant in South Carolina

Another edit to my review. Leaving both old ones below. I forced myself to try them again after that absolutely God awful customer service experience I mentioned. The food was too good to not try back (although I waited about a year.) Sonny boy is gone and Mom couldn't be nicer. Delicious, always have my take out order ready on time. Love that you can order everything on line.

I'm editing this review, yet keeping the old review below. I just called to place my typical take out order. A young man answered the phone. Several times when I asked some questions, I heard him mumble something under his breath. The final straw was when I heard him say " you're waiting my time." I'm sorry, but I snapped. How DARE any business think a customer was waisting their time!!! I called back to talk with the owner (who was very difficult to understand.) She said he wasn't talking to me but to another customer. Really? That didn't make me feel any better. I don't care how good the food is. I'm DONE with this place. Customer service was definitely a zero today. Maybe that's why everytime I walk in, the place is totally empty?

Only got take out here so far on the recommendation of neighbors who used to go to the Wok Inn. These are the old owners. Food was delicious; best I've had for Chinese food since moving to Greenville. Very fresh noodles, too - and most Chinese food places always seem to have stale crispy noodles. Although the location is in an area that seems to be on the decline, the place inside is very nice, extremely clean. Wish they did delivery! ...

After taking our son to the Greenville Science Museum for his 5th birthday all he wanted was Chinese food for dinner afterwords so we found CHINA STAR online which had very good reviews & was close to our route home.. I'm SO HAPPY we found this place! The food was VERY delicious, flavorful, & fresh. We were honestly surprised with how delicious everything tasted. Our favorite was their honey chicken.....WOW....yummmmmy! The spring rolls were perfect & crispy and the cashew shrimp was delicious! Our son ate all his shrimp with rice which is not typical of him, either. Plus, to top it off, the lady who served us was SO awesome & friendly!!! She was so sweet to our son & even brought him a complementary birthday dessert which was an awesome flaky donut type thing that we just had to "help" him eat...haha We had a wonderful little bday dinner together thanks to CHINA STAR! So happy we found it. We will absolutely be back when we come back to town. The only thing we're sad about is that we wish we lived closer or we'd be frequent regulars! Highly recommended! 5 STARS hands...

I can't believe I just paid $12 for seasame chicken for one person. And on top of that, it had absolutely no flavor. I got a to go order of seasame chicken which comes with a few pieces of broccoli mixed in and fried rice in a separate box on the side. I was surprised that the rice was fried as most Chinese restaurants I've been to give you bland white rice with an order of chicken. However, this restaurant made up for their blandness with the chicken. It was fresh and ready when I arrived to pick it up but I can't say that I wouldn't have been more satisfied if perhaps I got some day old chicken somewhere else so that it would have at least been sitting in its sauce overnight and had some flavor! Ive never been one to write reviews at all but with the price I paid I felt the need to warn others from making the same mistake. Good service for pick up, average quantity compared to other restaurants no complaints on that, and quality of freshness is above average. Quality of taste and value for the price are...
