Red Flags were evident as soon as I walked in. One greeter, who was also manning the phones so there was a line. Once seated they handed out the spiral bound menu's. Mine was wet so I used a napkin to wipe it clean. Something red came off the menu and onto the napkin. The waitress saw this and took the mess away. We ordered drinks which came 10 minutes later. Once again we waited for the waitress to return to take our orders. I should have left but decided to stick it out. Keep in mind it wasn't busy. Once she took our orders we sat there with empty glasses waiting for a waitress. We flagged down an employee who alerted her. She came back and took our orders. 15 minutes passed. .finally our food comes out. TWO of the 3 orders were ice cold. Yes, the plate was hot but the food was cold. Both orders were sent back. I'm guessing they stuffed them into the microwave but I was wrong. After another 10 minutes they came back and again nothing was moved on the plate. No one bothered to remake our orders and they came back COLD. I actually put my fingers into the beans and cheese to show her how cold it was. She apologized again and at this point I told her that I would not be eating. She ever so garsciousy said she'd take it off the bill. Ummm yes, Im not eating. I knew when I walked in there was something wrong with a place where there were so many children eating there. The staff was missing and the food was cold. We asked for the bill and made sure my meal was not on the bill. Once again, we had to flag down an employee just to pay our bill. This isn't the only Mexican place to eat and I sure as hell won't be back. Most restaurants, the manager would have come by and apologized but that didn't happen. I don't think there was one. When your food is as cold as the sour cream it's clearly a ONE and DONE dump!...
Read moreService used to be excellent and the food was always fresh. Was very happy that San Jose moved down Highway 1 and El Jimador opened up. However, over time their service has gone down hill and the food quality is horrible. I keep hoping that levels of service would turn around but it is only getting worse. For example:
Good luck on placing phone orders. Either they have issues paying the bill or the phone is off the hook. Normally the phone is off the hook while an employee is talking to a friend / significant other etc. I mentioned this to management but the issue has persisted.
When I pick up "to go" orders I have to unpack the entire bag and without a doubt something is always missing or they got the order entirely wrong. For example, tonight I ordered Enchiladas Tapitas with a side of re-fried beans and an order of Fajitas Poblanas (with chicken) and extra beans instead of rice. One of my rather easier orders. I was in a rush to get home so I didn't do my normal "run thru" of the containers but I ended up getting Enchiladas Tapitas with rice and no beans. The Faijitas Poblanas were made with steak tips, no tortillas and double rice.
When I mention all of these issues to management they basically laugh it off and nothing is ever done.
Tonight will be the last night I go there. Unfortunately I hear that El Paso's food quality and service is still in the gutter so I guess I will start going to Taco Bell for Mexican food....
Read moreNobody was at the front to greet. Waitress comes as we are opening the menu asking if we needed a ''moment'' to decide. Of course we need time to look at the menu so we said yes. She doesn't come back for good 30 min. The steak my son ordered was like microwaved. Center was cold and no burn mark on one side. No evidence of being cooked on grill or pan on one side. We stopped one of the emloyee to bring and someone but nobody came and we physically had to go get them. When my son went to the kitchen area to get someone he saw 3 dead roaches there... Unsweet tea tasted like mud. While we were waiting for our food a lady came in with a plastic bag and seems like she was returning food or something. I feel like vomiting now as I am still at the restaurant writing this. They brought a new steak on the same plate my son already took some bites out of rice & beans. And they NEVER asked how he wanted his steak and both steak came out like it's already cooked and all they do is to put it on pan just to make it look a little brown. They brought the new one probably with in a few min. How? It had to be frozen precooked steak or something which they probably microwaved it and fried with vegetables. Terrible experience. Waitress never came to check on us. One waitress on the floor but there are only few customers. We got here a little before 3 and we got the...
