Just moved into the neighborhood behind Goodfellas from Pennsylvania. I've lived all over the USA, and was an executive chef years ago. That said, my goal is to be as brutal as I can. I went with my daughter, just to try before karaoke next week. I accidentally stumbled upon a gem. The wait staff was great. Alexis was attentive but not hovering. My daughter had a whiskey & diet coke which she enjoyed, and I had a Lager pint (easy, but still good). 5 🌟! The food. My daughter had a burger. Seems easy, but she is a connesoir of burgers, very picky, and rated it 'top ten, if not top 5". It was a full 8 oz patty, with a decent roll. I had a bite and they do not skimp on seasoning and quality of beef. Cooked a PERPECT mid rare. I had steak tips with mashed and collars. I had to ask for gravy which was in the online description. I was hoping for smothered chicken, but it was not on the physical menu. The collards were stunning. I agree with the other reviews. Salty, smokey and sweet. I have only had better collard at a cookout in GA...again stunning. Personal preference would be a squeeze of lemon or malt vinegar to taste, but the option is there, I like acidic. Mashed potatoes were mid, but it is a weds. The steak tips tho....wow. Seasoned, perfectly mid rare, tender and juicy. Made me glad they didn't put the gravy over it, they stand alone, perfectly. Did not have desert, cause I'm not a sweets fan, and my daughter was full from a true 1/2lb burger. Atmosphere.. definately a home town bar vibe as everyone on a weds felt like you'd see most of them on a Friday, which being new, felt really good. We were welcomed by staff and guests, even having a lady in her 70s living her best life agreeing to conversation, which was really nice. She was nice and made us feel welcome, in a setting we typically wouldn't have. Bottom line, if you are visiting or just moved to Lexington, definitely check it out. 2 amazing entrees, 2 beers, and a well drink for under $50 (not including tip). The place is modern and clean, with a chill vibe. I'll definately go back to see the "party side", but that's another time. Tonight was for dinner, and they...
Read moreThis was not a good experience. The food was good. The service was awful. We sat down and was waited on fairly soon. I ordered the 10 pc wings. Half dry rub half special sauce. The order came out all dry rub. Our waitress, who we rarely saw, did not bring our order out. I finally got her attention and asked why they were all dry rub. She said oh yeah you ordered half and half. I said yes. She said I put the order in wrong. She offered no solution I said can I get the correct five. She said I have to take your plate. I said can I at least keep it until the others come. She said no I will bring extra plate and you have to put five on it. I hope no one ordered dry rub after me they may have ended up with the five I had to put on plate for her to take back. A person from the kitchen came out with my five wings ask a waitress, not ours, where these went. She shrugged her shoulders and threw them on the counter. I had to get her attention and she brought them to us. Again not our waitress. Our waitress never came back to check to see if my order had been corrected. Our beer glasses were empty. Never saw her. Never got ice water. I finally got her attention. Asked for a to go box. She brings a sandwich box that would not hold my leftovers. I asked if I could have an appropriate box. She grabbed the one on the table huffed off. Two tables behind us did not get their salads. This was our first visit not sure we will be back. If you were not a regular you were an...

Back at Goodfellas and hubby along with me. I photographed his Chicken Fingers and my side salad. I was craving the Buffalo Chicken Wrap, again, so did not take that photo.
Nice crowd. We played some good music on TouchTunes. We got lots of compliments on our selections from the 60', 70's, and 80's -- Rock and Roll, of course. If you have not tried Goodfellas, yet, get yourself on over there!
Original Review Have been coming to Lexington's Goodfellas restaurant on US 1 for a few years. Realized I had not posted about it yet. Headed to the bar to catch some of the lunchtime sports on the multiple TV's throught the room. TouchTunes available here. Like the local casual atmosphere. Nice selection of salads, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, wings, and meat and veg specials. Restaurant has a good-sized bar with bistro tables and booth seating on one side, as well as all dining seating on the other. Today, I started with an appetizer not tried before, Pimento Cheese Fritters with a sweet dipping sauce. A Bloody Mary was the perfect accompaniment with the fritters. These fritters are crispy golden outside and yummy, gooey inside. Really good! The main meal was the Buffalo Chicken Wrap with a side of Collard Greens. The wrap had just the right amount of heat in the Buffalo sauce, covering those juicy slices of fried chicken. I usually do fries or wing chips but opted to squeeze in a vegetable today. Large...
