I was in town for extended business and wanted pizza for dinner. I Googled "pizza near me" and, of course, the usual suspects popped up immediately. I scrolled further wanting something local. Guys Pizza up 5th or 6th in the listings and I looked over their menu. They offer appetizers, salads, sandwichs, hot subs, calzones, speciality house pizzas, lasagna, a chocolate chip dessert pizza, and, yes, you can order a pizza in various sizes with whatever you want on it. Also, they serve beverages and some sides. The menu has plenty on it to choose from but there is not too much to make it overwhelming, so I called and ordered a simple large pizzs. I was told the cost and it would be ready for pickup in 15 minutes. They offer dine in or drive through (pick up). They do not deliver. The property is only 12 minutes from the hotel, so I went straight there. When I arrived, I walked inside the store front and two young ladies kindly greeted me, got my pizza which had just finished, I paid, and left. The priced was about right for what I got, so Guys is affordable. The pizza itself was good with plenty of toppings and cheese. The pizza crust was not too thin or too thick; it was that hearty medium crust with the nice lip in the rear so you can hold the slice well. Overall good pizza and ordering/pickup experience. I would eat there again in the future. By the way, had I seen the picture of the calzone before I got pizza, I would have ordered that. It...
Read moreGreat mom & pops style pizza place! The food is really good and portions are very generous. We normally get the Veggie, Bird Dog, or the Guy Combo. Only $6.75 for a nice sized personal pizza. Where else can you feed each pick family member for $6.75 each? The restaurant itself is small and dining space is limited so call ahead if you have a large group. We tend to call in and pick up in their drive thru window. So fast and convenient! I hope they add a delivery option in the future. It annoys me the Domino's built a restaurant right beside Guy's Pizza. That's just ugly business. Don't be fooled by the popular name brand, Guy's pizza tastes a million times better and is made from the heart! They had my business already, but now that there's competition next door...they'll get even more of my business! Support our local...
Read moreLocally owned and operated independent spot featuring some down-to-earth good food.
The story is, the current owner worked there for the original owner before he left to open the immensely popular Smoking Pig. Originally "Pizza and Then Some," some apathetic owners between the original and the current ran the place down and smeared its reputation. We called it "Pizza and then Some Antibiotics" during those dark ages. If you hear anything negative, it's from folks who remember this period and have never gone back. Was certainly justifiable policy for a while.
We were excited to see new (old) folks running the place, and in the past few years, they've elevated it beyond even the original, which was great to start with. If you've been wondering, or worse, still have a bad taste in your mouth from the bad times,...
