5.7 miles... That's all I had to drive to find a huge variety of dining experiences. Instead I thought it would be nice and helpful if we enjoyed our food and could write an honest review for this small town diner. I saw fried pickles on goggle maps and could not resist. Instead, I had to go 5.7 miles off my trek home to find a restroom and some Tums after our lunch. My belly is still angry. I generally look to see why there are contrasting reviews to see if maybe it was an off day or what food was trending. The only thing I can say is in a small town where you are basically the only place around and probably know everyone in a 5.7 mile radius and you are nice to folks, a poorly run restaurant can fare better than most. Niceness does not compensate for me spending 15.00 per person (one dinner included the drink and the other drink was a water) and we left 2/3 of our food on the plate. It's 91 degrees; feels like 100 so you have to check your produce. The tomatoes on the salad tasted close to bad and some of the lettuce was brown slimy. The dried pickles were ruined by a mix of being fried too long and bad burnt grease. The pork chop; burnt grease gross. The baked potato was not done hence very dry. I'm sure it wasn't baked and instead microwaved but it's not hard to get that right. So why all the high reviews other than. I guess it's the burger. Those tomatoes though! Tea was not sour so that's a plus. The food all seemed like U.S. Food service cafeteria food poorly cooked. Last picture is the food I left on my plate because it was gross.

Posted in the Laurens County Eats page on fb asking about grilled chicken sandwiches and they responded and it’s one of the few local places I haven’t been to yet..so here goes. Grilled Chicken Plate came with fries and slaw. Chicken was cooked perfectly and had the right amount of honey mustard on it..I’ve never seen a place put the toppings on the bottom but it worked. Fries…were bland to me..no salt, no taste..slaw was good but again..needed to add salt. BBQ sandwich…for the price of it, it was rather small…very tasty though. Lemon Meringue Pie…slice for 2.99…that’s partly where the star is lost. If it’s not made in-house and upon eating a bit of it..it was obvious that it was pre-frozen…small slice for 2.99…something that should only be around 1.25. Was it worth $25…that’s debatable…was it good and will I go back? Definitely.

The food was awful we got a bbq sandwich plate that was 8.99 with all fries which they charged 0.50 cent extra and tea that was 2.79 and we got a hb steak plate with gravy and onions all fries and a tea they charged 10.99 for the plate 2.79 for tea 0.80 extra for each of the gravy and onions and then 0.50 extra for the all fries. And a PC of cake 2.99 Two meals and cake over $31.00. The bbq was dry so we the cake the gravy came in a 2 once plastic to go cup and already started to get think on top and the hb steak was maybe 8 ounces at best. It's sad because that was use to be amazing now it's all about making money quality and service throwed out...
