You know I was really surprised at this place. The day we went we went for breakfast. We were going down the road and passed a homeless man. By the time we got to Lizard Thicket door he was there and opened the door for us. In return I opened the 2nd to let him in. Well me, my wife and mother in law sat ourselves at a table. The homeless man went to the counter and I could hear him ask for a glass of water. She asked for here? He said no in a to go cup. She said she would have to charge him 27cents which he didn't have. He turned around and quietly walked out. I got up and went to the counter. I told the lady fix what ever drink he wanted and I'll pay for it. She replied that it is store policy to charge. I'm thinking this business makes who's of thousands of dollars and you can't give a man a styrofoam cup of water! Really over 27cents!! You could tell he is down on his luck right now. So she gave me the cup of water and I went out the door. He had already walked out of the parking lot but caught to him and gave him the cup. I'm sorry but I couldn't do that to someone. I mean my gosh it was only 27cents! But not only that it's summer and hot. I have eaten here for years but this struck a nerve in me. I hope some family members see this and will take the time to read it. I also hope that they can retrain the employees to be a little kinder. This was not like a 100 people asking for water. I was not brought up to act like that Lizard Thicket...
Read moreOne of the worst meals I've had in a long time. I NEVER complain or send food back but this was terrible. I ordered fried chicken rice and gravy and a salad. My gf had fried fish, rice and gravy, greenbeans, and squash casserole. Obviously none of this was cooked fresh as we got our meal 3mins after we ordered it. "Salad" I use that term loosely came to table at the same time. It was some whites of the iceberg lettuce, tomatoes with the ends still on them, and about 6 ounces of ranch. Rolls were warm but obviously premade out of a bag like you would get at the store and not even put in the oven. My chicken was cold and the waitress noticed I was telling my gf about it and offered to get me a new piece. She comes back in a couple mins with a new piece and says "i know this one is hot! I saw them put a fresh one in the microwave for you." What happpens to crispy fried chicken when you put it in the microwave? Hot soggy garbage is what you get. Couldn't have atleast dropped it in the fryer for a min or 2? Iwould have took the cold one back. It was old but atleast still remotely crispy. My gf said her fish was ok although obviously not freshly cooked. Green beans definitely just dumped and poured out of a can to a steam table. She said i think there is supposed to be some squash somewhere in this casserole. Mushy, overcooked, and old.

Read moreWe went on Wednesday specifically for the meatloaf. We arrived about one and one-half hour before closing and placed our order. Some 10 minutes or more later, I saw an employee remove the meatloaf line from the menu board. A few minutes later--about 15 minutes after we placed our order--our server told us they had run out of meatloaf. We ordered a different entree, and were finally served almost 30 minutes after we arrived.
Lizard's Thicket offers a rotating entree each day, and this location has become especially bad about running out of turkey and dressing on Sundays and meatloaf on Wednesdays. We have been disappointed more than 50 % of our visits there in recent months, so much so that we stopped visiting that location for a while.
I understand the need to avoid having leftover food, but to consistently and repeatedly run out of a featured daily entree more than an hour before closing shows very poor management skills. After all, the leftovers could still be served the next day, especially something like meatloaf and roast turkey. I am confident they have a refrigerator in the kitchen.
Frankly, their practice shows disrespect to loyal customers, with greater emphasis on the financial bottom line than on customer...
