First off, the food was delicious, there is no concern with the food. The issue was the service. We were rushed in and out or at least that is what it seemed like. My wife and I were spending our last evening out on our honeymoon here. Once we sat down we were given maybe 2-3 minutes to look over the menu, then within that time we were expected to have our order ready to go along with our drink order. We were served bread and salad in a timely fashion. We then waited with empty water glasses for about 10 minutes before we got a refill. After eating our meal we were told about our dessert options, the promptly given the check. We were going to order dessert but after having the check shoved onto the table in a rush to make us leave faster, we did not have the appetite for it anymore. We were also promised a celebratory shot of limoncello after our meal, and never received that either. Our waitress (Sarah) was not at all personable. She had built-in responses and reactions to situations, which made it hard to ask for anything or say yes to her questions before she was gone again. We were very clearly an unnecessary addition to her evening and we were clearly being rushed through our special evening. On our way out, we noticed she was in the middle of the dining room on her phone, which means she has plenty of time to be more attentive instead. This was our second time here, deciding it was a great place to end our honeymoon at given our last experience, but I am sad to say that we will never dine there again. I never leave less than a 20% tip, but I could not help but leave less than a 15% tip...
Read moreSomeone did a few brain farts with the menu. Most people at our table ordered the Habersham Honey Butter shaker-tini. Ingredients on the menu are bourbon, honey butter, and nutmeg. We discussed the drink at length with the waitress. The honey butter was like a simple syrup. I asked if it was sweet, she said it was like an old fashioned. Ok, we liked the idea…. She brought out the shakers and they were filled with a creamy white beverage on ice. Oh didn’t we know there was cream in it? It just was so rich and bland, we all sent them back. The owner of the restaurant stopped by and was suprised that the menu left out a major ingredient of the drink.I ordered the seafood lasagna with squid ink pasta. Squid ink pasta, the menu said. What could go wrong? Except that it was regular lasagna with squid ink smeared. On. The. Edge. Of. The. Plate. Not even a garnish mind you, I never saw a menu that included a plate decoration as a key ingredient to the dish. Seriously though, this was a big misrepresentation. Does the owner know about this menu faux pas? It was good but geez I would’ve ordered something else. Both classic bait and switch? Tuna tartare was bland. Others had the veal piccata and enjoyed it, but for $30 , two tiny pieces of veal and 3/4 cup pasta was really meager. The tagliare was good, but aside from salami and nice cheese, why couldn’t a price be listed. Why “market price”? Put simply, I don’t trust the menu. I don’t know if I’ll get what I ordered....
Read moreAbsolute worst service I have ever had and we go out to nice restaurants regularly. My husband and I had a reservation for 7:30. Arrived on time, waited at least 10 minutes just to be acknowledged. Our table wasn’t ready, so we went to the bar for a drink. The bartender saw us, but decided to rinse the glassware, load the dishwasher, clean the silverware, etc. There was only one other couple at the bar. She finally acknowledged us after about 15 minutes. At that time, the host came to let us know that our table would be at least another 30 minutes - so now a 7:30 reservation has turned in to 8:30. We decided we would eat at the bar. We ordered and after another 20 minutes we asked the bartender if we could have bread. Why wouldn’t she just bring us bread? Our table was ready at 9:00 and since we hadn’t even gotten our salads yet - we went to the table, but not before my husband’s beer had been empty for about 10 minutes and the bartender never asked if he wanted another one. When our food finally came around 9:20, it came out as a “split”. The bartender acknowledged putting it in the system wrong. The lobster ravioli was bland and my chicken Marsala was inedible since it it was so salty. Needless to say, we will never go back. Worst experience ever, I mean that truly. Update - the manager reached out to apologize for our experience which we appreciate. He also comp’ed our meal, which he did not need to do. I appreciate him going out of his way...
