The pizza places in this area seem to be a joke. I'm not sure how so many places can do pizza so wrong. It's a simple process.
So first I'll start with the deceptive advertising practices. I received a coupon from Google reviews for $8 off of a $15 order. Apparently tonellas has partnered the app "slice" to get additional advertising. The problem starts with the fact that tonellas doesn't even have online ordering setup to place orders through slice and use the coupon code. Now I was able to redeem the code but only after 2 phone calls to the pizza place having no clue what I was talking about and then a language barrier when I called a slice representative.
Okay now that's out of the way let me tell you about the pizza. We ordered a large ham and pepperoni pizza. The total for this 1 pizza was nearly $24. So I'm thinking to myself this has to be an amazing pizza at that price. I was severely disappointed when my wife opened the box to see about 15 Pepperoni's and maybe at most 10 ham slices. The added toppings were very abysmal. The crust was uneatable with how hard it was. The sauce didn't have much flavor. And the cheese was not stringy or bouncy like you would get with a quality cheese.
Looks like I had better get use to enjoying papa John's or totinos because the places around here are just horrible.
Edit: I spoke with the owner who has informed me that they are not partnered with the slice app. I have changed the rating I'm giving this pizza place in light of the recent finding.
Edit 2: After originally speaking with the owner he decided to call me back on a 3way call with a slice representative. Not sure why he needed me to be on this call since I had already fixed the score to reflect his claim he wasn't partnered with "slice". He then got irate with me yelling things like "who gives you the authority to review my business?" He then accused me of lying about the review I gave about the pizza being horrible. The owner then sent me text messages stating things like this:
"James, I really feel sad for you that you have nothing better to do with your time then to give people bad reviews. It really is sad. You evidently need something more to do with your time. Go volunteer somewhere and don't be so selfish"
In case you're reading this Tony, everyone has the "authority to review something they purchased. I review places I've been so that others can avoid restaurants with with bad food and terrible business practices...

This restaurant was very busy and bustling when we came in, but after a short 5 minute wait for a table to clear, we were seated into a booth. Note: the booths here have no cushioning (it's all hard and uncontoured wood), so people with bad backs may not be comfortable. But that aside, let's get to the food and taste.
We first had some of the bread knots. The knots have a very light, almost croissant, like texture. They were covered in a little too much garlic oil for my taste, but some people like them that way, and they still tasted good. The knots had real garlic on them so that was a nice touch.
We also ordered a 5 meat pizza that was nice and hot when it got to our table. The pizza here has a very thin and light crust (east coast style), with a decent amount of toppings, and it was delicious. The sausage was mild, the pepperoni was of high quality; the ham and bacon were plentifully sprinkled throughout the pizza pie. It tasted great!
We also had the bruschetta, who's flavor, the wife held in high regard. I didn't have any, but if the wife liked it, it's because it must have been good.
Overall I really liked the food this time around and I'm glad we came in to eat, this time. This is also a great place to bring small ones to. Our kids both had their own little pizzas that they loved. Our waitress was on top of our order and the refilling of our drinks the entire time we were here.
The only reason I'm not giving this restaurant 4, instead 5, is that I do have a bad back, and the hard wood booths were not kind to me. But that's just me, and the hard wood may not bother most people.
This restaurant has the atmosphere of a busy pizzeria that has some Italian comfort food on the menu. It's a little loud in here and there are servers running around all over the place... But that's good, because it means that customers are being kept up with.
The prices are not too bad on the wallet, we fed a family of four, we had drinks, we ordered bread knots with 3 pizzas, a salad, and bruschetta, all for less...
Read moreExcellent!! Moved to SC about a year ago and have not been able to find a good Italian restaurant..only chains! On Thursday, my son and I were sitting in front of this restaurant waiting for our friend to get her nails done and decided to go inside to see if we could get some drink to take outside. I believe a gentleman that may have been an owner asked what we wanted and we chose sweet tea. He said they were on him!! he asked where we were from originally, and we said RI. My son was wearing a Boston baseball hat. I asked about pizza and he explained they were from Philly and their oven was from an old NY pizza place. Smelled delicious in there. Thanked him for our tea and went back outside. They have nice tables, chairs and benches outside so a nice place to sit and wait if you are getting an order to go! Keeping this in mind, my family decided to go out for dinner, and I suggested we go to this restaurant. Best decision ever!!! If you like delicious home cooked Italian food, you will not be disappointed..it is the best!!! Between the four of us we had pizza, bruschetta, meatballs and sausage with spaghetti and chicken parmesan and very fresh salads. All excellent! Does not disappoint and is...
