Waffle House — Restaurant in South Carolina

Sorry but this is long, but necessary. I cannot believe what I just saw. First, I called my order in and gave the cashier my name. 3 minutes later I got there I saw only one customer at the place. I informed the cashier of my call and gave her my name. She looked at me like i was from outer space. The cook said yes ma'am I have your order here. Then he told her to give me the order. She was just out of it. The phone rang and she told me I just have two more tickets before I get off and I am not answering it. The phone rang twice. NO ONE answered it!!! Then as I was waiting for her to the lid on my food a Hispanic family of about 6 people were coming in. I told her "there goes your two tickets" she said, "I will show you" She informed the family that they could not eat in as there were no hostesses and she was getting off. She told them that they would have to do take out. When they said ok, she spoke between her teeth. She was mad cause she was having to do her job!!! My omelets looked more like something my 10 year old autistic son had made. The grits and bread was cold. I ate the omelets and threw everything else away. This was the worse 12 I ever spent for a meal. So sad. Please tell me this is not the going behavior...

Not sure why so many people say you have to try Waffle House when you go south.Havent been impressed with any I've tried. This one was not that great.Food tasted good and came out quick. I had a sauage,sausage, hash brown bowl which was actually good. My daughter got a Waffle and wasn't impressed. I'm thinking this is a waffle place the waffles should be thick and fluffy. If that's what you want don't go to Waffle House. These were the thinnest Waffles I've ever seen. My daughter wanted chocolate chip, and they were miniature chips, not many in one spot on top of the Waffle. As far a cleanliness, it was actually disgusting. We should of left, but we're starving after driving all night, and was giving them the benefit of doubt that maybe that just got done with a big rush of people. No table was cleaned off from previous customer. We stood at door and one of the staff actually asked if I wanted them to clean the table. They did, but didn't clean any others, and didn't seem that busy. When grabbing some syrup as they didn't give to us or ask if wanted when ordered a Waffle, the pitcher had a dead fly on it. Was gross. How long was that pitcher sitting there. Wish I took a picture of it. Would not recommend this...

Not only was our experience at this location wonderful in terms of food, service and atmosphere the staff at this location was more than welcoming and very patient with my in-laws who had never been and needed time to look over the menu options. The server checked on us various time and so did the Manager/Cook. Unfortunately we had a medical emergency after we walked out of the restaurant and your staff and the Manager were diligent in helping with our situation and providing as much support as they could all while still providing service to their customers. Everything turned out well in the end and I am so very grateful for the two nurses that were there to help and for the Waffle House staff and especially the Manager for providing anything we needed.
