There's good food, there's great food, and then there's food that changes the course of your evening. We're Texas natives on a road trip with our kids, and a single dining experience can make or break you when you're couped up for five hours. Gone Rogue was everything we could have hoped for in a dinner. We immediately felt at home, and when we asked about different parts of the menu, we could tell that not only did the owners know their menu inside and out, but that they were passionate about it. They answered all of our questions without making us feel like a pain, but rather that we were now privy to something special- and they were right! AND!! They fixed us up a whole cheesecake ON THE FLY when we mentioned wanting to take a whole one to the family we were on our way to visit. Now onto the main course- the food. You can tell when things are made in house by people who care- and these chefs care. My husband, daughter, and son all got different burgers, and every single one of them tasted like a gourmet sandwich. The buns were soft, the produce was fresh, the meat was juicy, the cheese was melty and perfect. I got a grilled chicken salad tossed in buffalo sauce with gorgonzola cheese and pico de gallo. When I tell you it was the most satisfying salad I've ever had, it's no exaggeration. Literally everything was perfect. I can't give higher praise to this family owned establishment, and I'm so glad our travels put it in our path. We'll be back every time we're in South Forks, not just for the amazing food, but to see such nice folks again. A giant Texas sized Thank You, y'all....
Read moreWow! Where do I begin? I have been traveling for 2 weeks and have eaten at fine dining as well as little Mom and top diners. This was the freshest most well-prepared food that we've eaten on the road. The prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of the food that is served. The first night we had catfish and chips and what a surprise. The food was amazing! A very light scant breading on the catfish and sweet and fresh fish perfectly cooked. We came back and had had a burger on the second night. A real hamburger that is hand formed and many creative choices with everything fresh. Our server Candice was an absolute delight. Warm, friendly and a throwback to what a true small town should be. This is an absolutely must-stop place. They even serve local beer from Del Norte and Pagosa Springs at a very reasonable price. If you're looking for a place to eat in South Fork Colorado while you're enjoying The Great outdoors, this is a...
Read moreThis is, without a doubt, the best food that I have ever eaten. Period. End of story. My husband and I were in South Fork for a couple of weeks and discovered this little gem during our second week. We ended up eating here twice that week because we couldn't get enough. Hubby had the fried catfish basket both times that came with housemade green chili tartar sauce. The fish was perfectly breaded and fried and he loved the tartar sauce. He also had a bowl of the best housemade clam chowder. I had the UnaPhillyated sandwich which was the best thing I've ever eaten! We both got their housemade onion rings with delicious ranch dressing dip. If you eat here, you will not be disappointed. Also try a piece of their housemade cheesecake. It is absolutely scrumptious! We got the fig cheesecake with candied walnuts, rum soaked blueberries and a yummy whipped cream. I'm so sad that I have to wait a year to eat here again when...
