El Saucito Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in South Hill

I absolutely LOVE this place, the food is always soooooo good. However, there is one waitress that you should watch out for. None of them introduce themselves to you or wear name tags, but theres only one that I’ve encountered that has continuously given us problems. Shes a short middle aged lady. If you get her as a waitress, you’ll know Exactly who I’m talking about. She’s very rude and VERY inattentive. She came and dropped off the menus and dissapeared for 10 minutes before coming back to take our drink order and our food order. Someone else dropped off our food and come to find out not only is my order wrong, but my date’a order was wrong. The thing that kills me about this particular waitress is that we are regulars at this place. I order the same exact thing every single time. She doesn’t return to our table for 20+ minutes and is NOWHERE to be seen. When she finally comes to “check” on us, we inform her that our food is wrong and she said “why didn’t you send it back?” BECAUSE SHE HASNT BEEN BACK TO OUR TABLE!!! She offers to fix my boyfriends order, but tells me that since I didn’t tell her that I didn’t want a specific item in my food, she can’t replace it. MIND YOU, I order the SAME EXACT ORDER EVERY SINGLE TIME!! I have gotten into the habit of saying “except for ...... “ so I know I said it. I even asked my boyfriend, I was like “I did say it, right?” And he confirmed I said it, but she’s saying because she didn’t write it down, I didn’t say it. I AM BEYOND HEATED. This was one of my favorite places and I’m sad to say that have lost my patronage for a while. How poor can your customer service be?! Still can’t believe she fixed my Boyfriends plate and not mine. That being said, I LOVE this place and the food, and after my anger wears off, I will happily return to this place, and just pray she isn’t the only waitress...

Unfortunately I give 2.5 stars after my visit last week. Arrived during lunch time, walked in to place a to go order... there was a waitress who was eating, she got up to take my order. When she went to charge my card for a total of $31.34, I noticed that the credit card machine/computer was taking a while. I received a notification on my phone stating my card was charged once and I had a remaining balance... In the midst of the machine still taking it's time, the waitress UNPLUGS the card machine which causes my card to be charged TWO more times. The second transaction went through AGAIN. The third transaction did NOT due to my funds being depleted but I was still charged a total of $96.

I ended up having to call my bank and walked out with no food. After FIVE days, the charges were dropped on my account and I received my funds back.

For future reference, please do not unplug connections to machines while they are being used. Its like paying a bill online, when the screen is loading, do NOT touch.

This was hands down my favorite Mexican spot in the area and now, you will not get my business and I will tell everyone to watch out for your credit card machine or carry cash only.

Ordered chicken flautas for my five year-old son. He loves them, eats them all the time. We have an entire conversation to establish that I want the lettuce left off the plate, but he likes sour cream. They arrive, and as he bites into one, he says "ewww, yuck, there's cucumbers in here." There were no cucumbers, but there were green peppers, onions and tomatoes throughout, and I had to destroy them to pick them out. The waitress observes this, and when I comment that the menu did not describe the flautas as having peppers, onions and tomatoes in them, she explains that it's pre-mixed in the chicken, which they use in a lot of dishes, so they can't pick it out. Okay, but had I known, I would've ordered something else for him, e.g., a chicken quesadilla. She takes them away, and that's it. I get charged full (adult) price for them, and no offer to bring him something else. Totally...
