This place was great when it opened years ago. It has changed drastically! The owner was always here, the workers hustled, and the food was so fresh. The opposite of all those things are true now. Even the coffee is not as good as it was. Sub par is the most fitting review for this place that started with much higher standards The owner used to roast the coffee in the shop and you could tell by the taste how fresh it was. The food was the same. I would get the egg, chorizo, and cheese on a baguette. The sizzling chorizo would spill all over the foil wrapper, acting as a side dish when you finished the sandwich. Now the breakfast sandwiches are in a cold case on the counter so I tried new things. Two weeks ago I tried an acai bowl. I had to wait 2.5 hours for it to thaw. The fruit and acai were all frozen into each other with cold granola on top and a fresh scoop of peanut butter, the only thing extra I asked for. Even after a few hours the strawberries, blueberries, and bananas were ice in the middle. I'll try anything twice, even if it's awful. So today I got overnight oats and avocado toast. Thinking they couldn't screw that up. I was wrong! The oats were old, refrigerated days ago, almost stale tasting. The toast, I waited 15 for, thinking at least this will be nice and fresh. I took a couple steps towards the counter to ask why it was taking so long and saw a plastic container on top of the fridge that looked like it may be mine. There were at least 3 young women hiding behind the counter. I finally got the attention of one and asked if this was my avocado toast. She asked if it was in a clear plastic package, instead of taking 2 steps forward to look. I responded by describing what I saw. Bread with tomatoes on top in a clear box. She finally stepped forward, rolled her eyes, and said yeah. It turned out to be cold and disappointing as her attitude. I come here because I don't like Dunkin donuts fake food but I will choose them over this from now on. Still fave TLC 5 stars for atmosphere because it looks like what I wish it was and what...
Read moreI heard this place has changed management and I'm super disappointed in my last two trips here... I Started coming here sometime back because we visit the area regularly, though we don't live here. We use to really love going in here but the last two times we've been here have been such a disappointment. I went in and ordered a spinach wrap this morning to include egg, two types of cheeses and hash browns. Didn't bother checking my bag before I walked out because I've always been able to trust this business. Had to run errands, got home about an hour later, went to go eat and I had a spicy sausage Patty bagel sandwich where the sausage was about 3/4 of an inch thick, egg, bacon with peppers and all kinds of things on it. Nothing I could eat. As you noticed I ordered a wrap without meat and what I received was all full of meat... I was able to call them and get them to process a refund, and I do appreciate that. Just super disappointed and it took me 25 minutes in there just to get my food, I didn't even order anything to drink. They had two people working on prepping sandwiches, coffees, and lots of other things for grab and go and yet somebody standing right there that just ordered and instead of focusing on my order, it took 25 minutes for and then on top of that, it wasn't even the right thing. So disappointed in this place. I hear they've changed management and that's why this stuff is going on. It's too bad because it was a good...
Read moreRhode Island coffee drinkers and brewers, you have just been put on notice with this gem đ! I was at a lacrosse tournament at URI and I drove by this place I was like eh another coffee joint. The thing to do right now, but I was still like let me try it. Wow I am so glad that I did. This may be right there as a top player in the coffee game in all of Rhode Island and we know coffee. We travel 30 minutes for good coffee places! I am shocked that a place that amazing is hiding on Route 138. I also could not believe that the coffee tasted as fresh as it did, out of a jug sitting on a shelf. But it did! It was amazing. And I absolutely love that you could add regular milk, cream, almond milk or oatmilk without an extra charge. I hate when I get charged 80 cents for oatmilk and they put a splash in. Why on Earth is that 80 cents when you can get the gallon for 4 dollars and it takes 127 splashes to finish. I love the fact that they charge one price and you can add in your oatmilk and all your fixings for that price. And they don't just offer blah fixings. We are talking about cocoa powder, cinnamon, sugar, raw sugar, liquid sugar and so much else. This is a must try in Rhode Island for all coffee lovers. Let's go....
