Hoss's Steak & Sea House — Restaurant in South Middleton Township

Was very busy this past Saturday evening, but, was greeted with a smile by Hostess and seated quickly. Was very clean inside. The girls were on it and nailed it!! Great job!!!. All the girls should be recognized for a job well done. The salad and Tostido bar, as well as, the soups and breads were clean, fresh and kept full. She worked her butt off to accomplish that and was moving non stop. I also noticed the hostess would chip in and help the waitresses when needed, to ensure the customers got their food hot and fresh. I ordered the House burger with fries ($14.95) (delicious) It was very satisfying to eat..it was done perfectly and the fries were hot. A myriad choices for desserts.

For those people that are more money conscious, I believe Hoss has a lunch special, which includes the salad bar, for $9.99, until 4pm on certain days. You have the choice of add-ons in addition.

My waitress, Bree, was extremely pleasant, and would check back on me at perfect intervals, even though she was "swamped" Bree ensured I had extra napkins, condiments and refreshed my drink, all without me asking. She is a good asset there.

Lastly, I would like to see Hoss' be more competitive with the pricing of their steaks. Some options are pricy, for the size you get.

The waitress we had was extremely rude. We were a large group on a bus trip but they knew we were coming. We were made to wait while one of the employees talked to the escort twice. Then we were told that we would be eating off the value menu and the salad bar would not be included. When we were seated we needed to have a table for 4 or 4 seats together because we were going to order for our driver and the escort. She insisted we just sit down because they had arranged for all of us to be contained in one area. We didn't ask to leave the area. There was a table of 4 right across from a table of people in our group and a table right behind them. Finally she said she didn't care where we sat and then said we didn't want to sit with everyone else. We were then told we couldn't have a side salad because they didn't have them and we could have one side with our entree. The other waiter brought side salads to his guests which caused chaos since all of her guests were told they didn't have side salads. Half of us were finished with our dinner before the others even got their meals. The whole thing did get resolved finally but needless to say none of us will be returning to your restaurant. We're visiting the area and decided to try dinner at Hoss's. I ordered the 6 oz sirloin steak medium rare with sweet potato and salad. My hubby ordered the same with a salad and mashed potatoes. The salads came, they were mostly lettuce with 1 little sliver of tomato, a sprinkle of cheese and a teeny tiny bit of onion. Disappointing to say the least. It took a while to get our entree and sides. When they finally came out...my steak wasn't medium rare it was medium and only warm also my sweet potato was barely warm. My hubby's was only warm as well. As long as it took to get the entrees we were afraid to send them back, figuring it would be another half an hour. So we decided not to send the meals back. The waiter was slow. We asked for bread it never came. We were almost finished with the meals before the waiter came to check on us. My hubby asked for more to drink...it didn't come.

So if you have plenty of time and don't mind not getting your food the way you ask for it, or it being served hot. The waiter being slow, not getting additional drinks, etc. Then this is the place for you. If you do mind all those things ... I'd eat...
