Kaffe Mercantile has some of the best coffee in Ogden. Hands down, all of their hot drinks are excellent. Sadly, that is their only positive. The staff is always distracted and disoriented, and I have NEVER had a good order come out correctly. Ever. I love their coffee and go their regularly, and they donât make complicated items - but they still canât get it right. You ask for a plain toasted bagel, you get an I toasted Asiago bagel. Ask for a blueberry muffin you get a chocolate muffin. Today I ordered a cinnamon roll and toasted bagel, with cream cheese on the side. The cinnamon roll looked great, but was obviously very old as it was as hard as a rock. The bagel was not toasted, and had cream cheese on it (so I couldnât toast it myself. I donât understand why this happens every time. It doesnât seem to matter if I go in or order delivery. White the order down, call it in, or do it in person. 1 drink and 1 baked good, or breakfast for the entire office - it doesnât matter. Always wrong.
As much as I like the coffee, canât keep throwing money away...
Read moreI recently visited Kaffe Mercantile and had a mixed experience. While the atmosphere was pleasant, I encountered some issues that left me less than satisfied.
Firstly, there was a noticeable discrepancy between the prices listed on the board and what I was charged. This bait-and-switch tactic was disappointing and left me feeling misled. Although they had a sign informing this I canât help but wonder how much they are charging for basic items.
Additionally, the customer service was lacking. When I asked a question about the coffee, the staff seemed uninformed and uninterested in helping. This lack of knowledge and effort deterred me from seeking assistance with other inquiries.
On the positive side, the food was decent, tasting, fine but not standing out as anything special. It needed something to tie it together like a specialty sauce.
In summary, Kaffe Mercantile has a pleasant atmosphere, but potential customers should be cautious about pricing discrepancies and may not find the customer service up to par. The food is acceptable, but donât expect anything...
Read moreThis cute coffee shop is a balm for the tired soul. Its everything big coffee companies reach for but never quite grasp. My partner and I ordered a latte, hot cocoa, the breakfast scramble, and a scone - everything was delicious and made to perfection. We enjoyed our drinks on the soft couches with the perfect coffee shop vibe. Works from local artists contribute to the relaxing and comforting vibe. Paintings and handmade coffee tables make Kaffe Mercantile a place you'd feel right at home catching up with a friend or taking a date to. The best part about this place though is the customer service. The baristas were incredibly friendly, and during the time we were here, we overheard friendly welcomes, recognition of returning customers by name, and confident drink recommendations. Even though this coffee shop is 30 minutes away from our home and there's a big name coffee shop closer, we'll be coming back here...
