I absolutely loved the Brunch House 1850. The interior is completely updated and brightened up from how it used to be. Its charming and trendy decor are the perfect aesthetic for any celebration. This is absolutely the perfect spot to bring your favorite brunch crew as there really is something here for everyone! First the fresh squeezed OJ is not to be missed! Mocktails or cocktails are a must, they have a full bar and make really delicious craft cocktail. If you’re a fan of avocado toast, you’re going to love the variations they have available. We had fresh mozzarella with balsamic drizzle and it was so fresh and tasty. The crepes are a great option and whether you’re a fan of savory or sweet, they certainly have you covered. The bacon egg and cheese crepe was loaded with eggs, bacon, tator tots overall a great choice. If you crave something a little sweeter the strawberry cheesecake will absolutely hit the spot. I loved the power bowl options, perfect if you’re looking for a healthier option. The salmon was cooked perfectly and paired well with the spinach, cucumbers, feta, chickpeas etc. And let’s not forget about the incredible eggs Benedict selection! We had the Oscar Benedict, which had crab meat and asparagus and was over polenta. Creative and tasty. There’s a large room in the back to host your own private party or gathering for bridal showers, baby showers etc. Don’t sleep on this spot, they’ve really taken branching in style to a whole new level! Were absolutely here for it!,

We made a reservation for our son's graduation dinner not only to celebrate his accomplishment, but to try out the food before deciding if the location and food would be considered for his upcoming nuptial's rehearsal dinner. They nailed it! Our reservation was for 5:30p and we were done with desert and paid our bill by 7pm. We were seated promptly and the courses were served within reasonable time. Service was excellent. Patricia, our server, was very helpful, efficient and professional. The menu choices included selections for our vegan, picky, and meat & potato lovers. The food was fresh and every plate was great. We decided right then and there to talk to the manager and make arrangements to hold the rehearsal dinner for 30 people at this rustic venue. I would absolutely recommend 1850 House in Southbury. Once again they nailed it!!! We had the rehearsal dinner at 1850 House in October. The upstairs private room was set up for 37 guests. The charcuterie and appetizer were plentiful, delicious, and displayed beautifully. The pre-selected entrees were abundant. The guest were so impressed with the meal and exceptional service. The Lobster tail entree was actually a whole lobster to our surprise. Brendon and his staff were so attentive to our needs. We will definitely celebrate our next event here.

I wish I could leave a positive review but my experience was not what I expected. I stopped by today for breakfast with my sister since we are staying at a hotel near by and I am visiting CT for the first time. We read the reviews and decided to give this place a try because we were looking forward to having some good food but unfortunately due to bad customer service, we didn’t get the full experience. When we came in, we were greeted by a waitress and then seated in the outdoor dining area by the golf course. We waited for 25-30 mins and we did not receive any water or utensils at all. We left feeling devastated and hungry. I’m not sure if it was a racial thing since the majority of the people seated were pro dominantly white but we definitely felt uncomfortable. I lost my appetite and then when we approached the waitress to notify her regarding the service, she offered us free drinks apologized for the wait. I’m not sure if I will be coming back due to this experience especially because I am not from the area but I think customer service should be better and everyone that enters should be treated equally with the same respect and treatment as anyone else regardless your background.

An Exceptional Experience for a Milestone

Celebration Brunch House 1850 provided a truly unforgettable experience for my mom's 85th birthday celebration. From the moment we arrived to the final heartfelt farewells, everything about the event was seamless, beautiful, and memorable. Hosting 21 guests can be a challenge, but the team at Brunch House made it seem effortless, leaving us free to enjoy every moment of this special occasion. The private room was a highlight in itself-bright, airy, and tastefully decorated, with an atrium that let in a warm flood of natural light. Its location right next to the bar was ideal, giving guests easy access to beverages while still keeping the gathering intimate. Every detail was thoughtfully executed, from the elegant table settings to the spacious layout, ensuring everyone was comfortable. The food? Simply outstanding. Our menu featured a delicious spread that had something for everyone. We started with fresh dinner rolls and a Caesar salad, which was crisp and flavorful. The entrees were a feast in every sense: savory sausage and peppers, perfectly cooked penne ala vodka, tender and flavorful chicken Francese in a delicate lemon butter white wine sauce, roasted potatoes, and a medley of roasted vegetables that brought vibrant color and flavor to the table. Each dish was prepared with care, served hot, and tasted amazing. The portions were enormous!

A particularly special touch was how they accommodated my mom's dietary needs with a separate meal. She was treated to a beautifully presented steak cooked to perfection, accompanied by roasted potatoes, fresh vegetables, and a salad that she couldn't stop raving about. This level of attentiveness made her feel truly celebrated, and as a family, we couldn't have asked for more.

Beverages, including coffee, tea, and soda, were generously provided, and the event concluded with a stunning cake that was both beautiful and delicious — a perfect sweet ending to a wonderful celebration.

The service was exceptional throughout the event. Every staff member was friendly, attentive, and professional, ensuring that no glass was empty and every guest was well taken care of. Their warm, personable approach added to the overall atmosphere and made the day feel extra special. And perhaps the best part? It was all incredibly reasonably priced, especially given the high quality of the food, service, and ambiance. Brunch House 1850 exceeded all expectations, making what could have been a stressful event feel effortless and joyful.

If you're looking for a venue to host a special occasion, I can't recommend Brunch House 1850 enough. They go above and beyond to deliver a flawless experience, and we are so grateful for the memories they helped create.

Thank you to the entire team for making my mom's 85th birthday...

We had the absolute pleasure of hosting our wedding reception at Brunch House 1850 and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. From the initial planning stages to the day of the event, the staff went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect. The owner, Melissa Dayton, communicated with me every step of the way and understood my vision as I was planning the event, which I truly appreciated.

We reserved the bar and sunroom to accommodate 49 guests. We also used the adjacent outside area off the sunroom. The ambiance was elegant and exactly what we had envisioned for our special day. The food was incredible—our guests are still talking about how delicious everything was! My step father who is a tough cookie also continues to rave about the coffee as well! Hey, if he’s happy, we’re happy! But truly, the food was fantastic. Our menu included a charcuterie board, garden salad, lemon chicken, steak, sausage and peers, penne à la vodka, roasted potatoes and veggies.

Owner, Melissa, and her amazing staff were attentive and professional throughout the event. They are amazing!!

A huge thank you to Melissa and ALL of the Brunch House staff - the bartenders- the chef - the waitstaff - everyone who made our once in a lifetime event come to fruition. We feel so lucky to have celebrated such an important day in a place that cared so deeply about making it perfect.

I highly recommend Brunch House 1850 for any special occasion as well as a fantastic place to stop by for brunch or lunch. All of the food is delicious, fresh, and made with care. Regular day menu items we especially love for lunch are their salads (big enough to share!) and the Brunch House burger. You just can’t go wrong! They hold a weekly music bingo on Friday’s too, which is a blast with happy hour specials!

My husband and I went for brunch last Sunday. We were seated quickly but waited a long time for our food to come out. The waitress kept checking on the food and said she didn't know what was taking so long. The food was very good in the end and the waitress was also very good. I went back there on Thursday at 12:30pm with my daughter and when we didn't have a reservation, we were told by the owner that we had to wait a half hour. All of the indoor tables were empty. The owner then said that "they have a lot of tables but a lot of people were out on the patio and the cooks were overwhelmed". She was a bit rude, which we felt was not appropriate in that setting. We waited. More people came in without reservations and were told the same thing. Two left. We noticed the waitresses going to the owner, asking what was going on. We were finally seated by the owner. The waitress happened to be the same one I had last Sunday and she was great. We did wait quite awhile for our food. Before we left I asked about a reservation for Friday as we wanted to take our neighbors there. I was told that they were closed for a private event. I then asked about Sunday and was told they were open. When I got home I checked with our neighbors and called to make a reservation for Sunday at 11am. I was told that they were "closed for the golf tournament" until 1pm. We ended up going elsewhere. While the food is very good and the wait staff are, as well, there seems to be inadequate kitchen staff and lack of communication. The owner should also be more polite when acting as the front line person for customers. With some changes, I think they can make it but honestly, the jury is...
