I just wanted to say a giant thank you to this establishment and all of the workers. I am a full time working mother, and I donât have any time or extra money to take care of a pet, however I found myself conflicted when I had a one month kitten meowing on my apartment back door in -30 degree weather. The kitten crying broke my motherly-heart and I ended up taking the cat in for the night. I called almost every CT humane or rescue center and was either turned away, or they were not open. In the meantime, this wonderful cat was so friendly, so clean, great interacting with the toddler. Mine and my familyâs hearts were broken to think about this loving animal not having a home, and heavy hearted that we couldnât open our home permanently to the angel. Whiskers listened to my story, they gave me a carrier to transport the kitten, and welcomed little Ozzie in with open arms. My heart it full of warmth and I am so relieved knowing he is somewhere warm and safe, something every creature should have. Thank you whispers for everything you did. I know you will find Ozzie a great home and until then he is in a beautiful, clean, and safe facility with all of his...

I understand the importance of rehoming rescued cats to good households, but the application process is insanely long and detailed. Why do you need to know my employments location and name? Why do we need a zoom meeting before even being pre approved for adoption? My boyfriend and I wanted to play with a kitten that we were interested in. However because neither of us were pre approved, we were denied the access to play in the 100% vacant kitty play room. There was NO one in there. We then asked if we could see the cat outside its cage and the gentleman said we werenât allowed to hold her.
He even went as far as to give my boyfriend dirty looks the entire time we were looking at all the kitties in their (small) cages. Itâs like he thought we were unworthy? What do you think is going to happen if we played or held a potential new fur baby of ours? I can assure you no one would pay $300 for a new kitten if they had ill intent.
Needless to say, we are rescuing our kitten elsewhere. No we did not complete the 100 page pre...

Also, you need to be pre-approved to adopt a cat before you can even play with it in their cat room, which you also need an appointment to do. They seemed very inconvenienced by us even being their and wanting to see a kitten. It's amazing how anyone is even able to leave with a cat by how thorough the process is. We did get a kitten there 4 years ago, and the experience was tough, but it has gotten a whole lot worse. At this point if we were to adopt another cat or kitten we would take the hour trip to CT Cat Corner in Weathersfield, where we had gotten another kitten prior, the staff is friendly, the paperwork isn't crazy, and you can leave with the cat you...
