I hard high hopes for this new restaurant... it's in a good location and they're promoting a new offer where you pay $30 and it's all you can eat sushi tempura and hibachi. I took my Godson for lunch for his sweet 16th birthday... we ordered the Asian fusion lunch specials he had sesame chicken which came with miso soup a salad and white rice. I ordered the same but with General Tso's chicken. First came the soup it was Bland it didn't have much flavor there was a little onion in it I've had me so soup many times before at other Hibachi restaurants and this was not enjoyable to me. They were only tiny little shavings of me so something like kale in it and the usual green onion. I ordered hot tea which tasted like dish water had no flavor at all. I always look forward to the salad they serve at Hibachi because they usually use that Makoto dressing which has a lot of ginger this dressing tasted like carrots and mayonnaise. And it was just a lot of iceberg lettuce not any appealing salad whatsoever just one of the mill. The chicken we both had we could have had it at Mr walk at the mall honestly there was nothing special about it and the waitress had 0 personality I don't think she smiled once although the food did come out promptly and the service was good there was no warm hospitality North conversation and definitely not a smile kind of somebody with a flat effect that might do better behind a desk. I would count this as a miss and I don't think I'll be back so sorry I expected...
Read moreThis place has potential but probably won't be going back to find out..we really had high hopes from the reviews..I ordered the honey walnut shrimp since you can hardly find it on menus ..who makes honey walnut shrimp with out tossing it in the sauce?.they gave alot of shrimp for the price but gave a small dipping sauce dish w the sauce in it which wasn't enuf and it was sub par sauce to begin with.u can taste the mayo in it :( I must be a walnut shrimp snob, that's why I make at home and it comes out yummy every time.even the walnuts weren't carmalized.Ok!maybe 1 or 2 were ..my daughter got "all u can eat sushi" ( since 2 rolls almost came to the price so it seemed only price effective). They give u a laminated menu w an erasable marker to make your selections..we had to ask for it back 2 times so she can order more..at the end she felt like she had to eat every bite due to their "all u can eat policy" that is written on the menu as well as the napkin holder on the table that you could be charged for the fee if all food is not eaten and no food is to be taken home.. AND you can't share w non " all u can eat" participants and they watch u like a hawk ..maybe because there was only 3 tables w customers...just giving them the benefit of the doubt..anyway it wasn't too expensive but we can find other places that have better sushi...it wasn't the best we've had but it also wasn't the worst...Hope they kick it up a notch for future...
Read moreI had an incredibly disappointing experience at Minami Sushi on November 27th during a lunch visit while I was in town from California. The service started off okay, but quickly took a turn for the worse. My sister-in-law found a hair inside her sushi roll when she bit into it, and when she pulled it out and spat the food out, the waiter witnessed the entire situation. The manager, Hailey, came over to assess the issue but seemed more focused on picking through the food than addressing the problem. There was no acknowledgment of the mistake or an apology from the restaurant.
When I asked for the general manager’s contact information, Hailey provided me with her own personal contact details instead, which felt unprofessional and dismissive. To make matters worse, our server, Kaitlyn, witnessed the incident but remained silent and unhelpful throughout the ordeal.
On top of that, we were overcharged for our meal, and I had to ask for a correction. After leaving, I realized I had left my phone behind and returned to find Hailey and Kaitlyn speaking negatively about me and my family. The lack of professionalism from the staff was appalling, especially considering the high prices at this establishment.
In conclusion, I would not recommend Minami Sushi. For the price you pay, you expect much better service and accountability. There are plenty of other sushi spots that value their customers more and provide a better...
