I had high hopes for this dinner, as it was for my birthday, and I had previously visited this restaurant with my sisters. My husband made the reservations over two weeks ago and requested a window table. Upon our arrival, which was ahead of schedule, my husband informed the staff that he has a service dog. They asked to see the dog right away and then took us to a booth located in a far corner near the kitchen, surrounded by walls and with just enough space for people to enter.

When we expressed our concerns to the young lady who seated us—pointing out that this was not the kind of table we had requested—she pointed to the window and said we actually had a window view, but the shade was down due to the setting sun being very bright. I acknowledged that while there was some kind of view, sitting there would blind us if we wanted to enjoy it during dinner. My husband and I both asked for a different table.

The young lady left to check with someone at the front and returned to inform us that the table they had given us was the one designated for our reservation. She stated that they didn’t have any other table available for another hour and a half to two hours and suggested we go on a waiting list for one.

Feeling frustrated, we decided to leave. As we were exiting, my husband spoke with Anna, the assistant manager, and explained how disappointed he was with the treatment we received. I approached to explain that I understood why they placed us in that booth: it was due to our service dog, which is unacceptable and against ADA regulations. I mentioned that we would be filing a formal complaint.

As we continued to leave, the young lady who had seated us informed a woman who appeared to be the manager that we were leaving. I stopped to tell the manager that we were leaving because we had requested a table by the window, and they had not only failed to accommodate us but had also tried to put us in a hidden corner by the kitchen. I reiterated that we knew their decision was influenced by my husband's service dog and that this treatment was not acceptable. I also informed her that we would be filing a complaint with the ADA.

Although we we're understandably upset. We had no time raised our voice or got rude although our tone was stern. Neither of the management team that we spoke to made any attempt to address the clear ADA violations or to remedy the situation. It is clear that this restaurant only cares about certain customers and shows little regard for those with...

My son took us here when we were visiting Mobile. It was my first trip to the south and I really wanted to eat at a place on the water. This place was good!

The best part was the excellent service, in all but one area, which I will get to later. The young people working here were fabulous! I'm not sure if it's just the way of the south or if it's great customer service training, but they were excellent. The server on our receipt is Abigail B.

The food was delish - we started with the crabmeat spinach dip (yum!!) and the Casino oyster platter. For entrees we had 2 fresh catches (served meunière style), an alfredo dish, and the Big Bateau Platter. Everyone enjoyed their food and it was very fresh.

Drinks - we ordered 2 Aperol Spritz as apéritifs. They weren't sure what that was, so they had to go ask the bartender if they could make them, they could. The drinks were awful and we had to tell them why -- they didn't add enough Aperol and it was very obvious. They remade them right away and it was no problem. An Aperol Spritz is very easy to make and would be a great addition to your menu (or at least a drink special! :) since it's so hot there. Just remember 3-2-1. It's 3 parts prosecco, 2 parts Aperol and 1 splash of soda. Lots of ice in a big glass and top it with a slice of orange- yum!! We also ordered a Mystic Breeze and a Sazerac, both were good.

I knocked 1 star off for the atmosphere score. There were 4 of us and we arrived around 3:50pm on Thursday, 5/23/2024. There were some people in the restaurant, but it wasn't busy. We were led to a table that was tucked into a little area, one row back from the windows. All of the window tables were open. We asked if we could sit by the window and were told no, they were reserved. There was a lot more room there, plus the view. Instead, my 6'8" son and his very pregnant wife, had to squeeze themselves into a weird seating area, in a corner. We ordered at 4:16pm (I needed a long time to look at their huge menu!) and left around 5:20. The entire time, nobody was seated at any of the window tables that we got to stare at during our meal. I was thinking, is there something wrong with us? We're a nice family and obviously out for an early dinner. That part of the service experience should also receive 1 star off, but the rest was so good, I am leaving it as a 5.

4 entrees, 4 cocktails, 2 appetizers = $173 before tax.

Looking forward to going again next...

We stopped by after spending the day visiting the USS Alabama- no reservations on a Saturday afternoon- about 4:30. We were told an hour wait. Yikes! Offered the bar area as an alternative to the wait. We sat ourselves, and instantly were greeted our server, Alex, who took our drink order and offered suggestions for popular dishes. We ordered the drink of the day (mystic breeze) waters and Coke products. Corn jalapeño fritters and a crab soup were the starters. I was expecting the fritters to be warm, but they were not. They were deeply fried and crunchy with spicy bits of jalapeño. The dipping sauce was a nice addition. The crab soup was NOT sherry cream based, but was delicious! (I find too often that crab soup leans too heavily on the sherry- clouding the crab taste) the crab was fresh and in abundance, mixing well with the cream. The Cesar and camp salads arrived next- both nicely dressed with fresh greens and hearts of palm and artichokes on the camp salad. For the entrees- I had shrimp and grits with green beans. The grits and brown sauce were pretty good, there was 10 nice sized tail on shrimp that were cooked nicely but not to the rubbery point. The green beans were the most flavorful that I have ever eaten out, and were NOT drenched with bacon grease. They were delicious. My daughter had the chicken parmigiana, she said it was good. Chicken was delicious, sauce was on the light side, Angel hair pasta made it not seem too heavy. Hubby’s burger was actually cooked well done (he ordered it that way but it usually doesn’t come cooked that way) and was nice and flavorful. Fries were abundant. Service was without a doubt the MOST attentive we have had dining out in YEARS. Beyond excellent! Definitely will be back when...
