I'm not excited or glad to leave this review but here we are. There's nothing I want more than thriving good quality restaurants in this area. But the reality is, the sushi is bad. The people leaving positive reviews about the sushi must not have travelled and had much sushi. I'd honestly prefer Rouses or Publix sushi over what they made. All my rolls had the thinnest piece of fish I've ever had on sushi. I essentially paid $50 for rice and cucumber slices. The presentation was also meh...again if you can't make your sushi visually more appealing than a grocery store, that's a problem. Do yourself a favor and drive 2min further and go into the fort and eat at the Japanese sushi place if you want cheap good sushi. Or go to ryzas in Daphne or master Joe's in fairhope. It's tragic because I live so close and wanted to love this place. I think a more appropriate name would be "Sad Sushi SF." I'm sure the owners will see this review. And leave a lovely response. And I welcome that. My comment for you would be to go eat at these other sushi restaurants and compare it to yours and actually be honest with yourself. Your...

Wow.
I came in to Happy Sushi and was immediately greeted with a warm welcome. I was asked if i wanted a table or booth, or even sit at the bar.
My server Fendi was extremely polite and helped me understand the menu all while being very patient with me.
It was not overly loud inside, and almost all the seats were taken in the restaurant.
After a very miniscule wait time (maybe 2 mins) i was presented with my cucumber salad. It's taste was better than expected. Shortly thereafter, my grilled shrimp ramen was presented to me. The noodles were cooked just perfect and the broth wasn't overly spicy (i ordered it "hot"). The portion of food was huge for very reasonable prices.
Every customer in the store seemed happy (from a glance observation) and all servers were busy working the whole time i was in the restaurant.
Finally, i ordered Spicy tuna sushi taco's and som nigiri to-go. The presentation of these were also phenomenal.
10/10 recommend.
100% the best ramen shop in Baldwin or Mobile counties. Is worth the drive to try the food, so come stop by you...
Read moreHappy Sushi is as close to a real Japanese food as it gets. Having been to Japan 3 times I was so happy to learn that a lovely family from the land of the rising sun has decided to share the food of their wonderful country with us here in Southern AL! The interior is authentic, and made me homesick after having lived in East Asia for many years. The service was wonderful- everyone was friendly, our food order was taken as soon as we sat down, and what a treat it was to have it delivered by a cute Shinkansen train:) We had a few sushi rolls, Shoyu Ramen and A Salmon Poke Bowl, and everything was beyond delicious with fresh ingredients, and most authentic. One of the staff- Izumi, was simply delightful, and made is feel so welcomed and special. Both of my visits to Happy Sushi were great, and I cannot wait to go back there many more times. At lunchtime (12:00 Noon) you may have a hard time with finding parking, but simply wait a few minutes and someone will leave and will vacate a parking spot. Thank you, Happy Sushi, for bringing a piece...
