When I say this was a rough experience… this was a rough experience. As a former restaurant employee, I can understand how some of these things happen… but as the regional manager himself said today “it’s been a rough two years” of this. Plenty of time for problems to be resolved. Also for context, there were maybe less than 10 cars in the parking lot out front - not a busy interior. Our table of seven was seated immediately in an otherwise empty room. Our first server stopped by as we being seated claiming to be “right back as soon as he greeted another table” … only to never to return. After 20 minutes, the hostess was then kind enough to bring us drinks. After a long wait, we then had to aggressively request a new waiter /waitress after it had been nearly 30 minutes of waiting for our order to be taken. We received a new waitress and she was wonderful. Very attentive and kind. Took our order, refreshed drinks, etc. We then proceed to wait another 40 minutes for our food. We were about to get up to find a server to ask about our food when it finally arrived. Anything (and I mean anything) that was not fried was either cold or lukewarm at best. I don’t know about you but lukewarm seafood isn’t exactly my jam. We tried to just roll with it (we were hungry after waiting so long) but the cold gumbo, shrimp stew, and crawfish étouffée were requested to be replaced and a cold fish dish (Atchafalaya) was sent back entirely to be replaced with a fresh catch bourbon street (fresh catch: snapper). We proceeded to wait a long time for these replacements while we proceeded to eat our lukewarm food and the admittedly delicious and hot fried seafood. Pretty much only the fried food turned out correctly. By the time the rss rod the food had turned from lukewarm to cold, the replacement étouffée and shrimp stew were presented to the table. They were colder than the first batch. We were then informed that they were turning up the burner and we were promised third replacements (they never came). After another 20 minutes, the replacement fish dish arrived. Shortly after taking a few bites, the fish (while it was hot) was described as “sharp, bitter, and sour”. The very hungry receiver of that dish ended up throwing up before we even left the restaurant. It is important to note that it took three separate attempts over this whole encounter to see a manager. The first two attempts to speak with a manager were ignored. We hate to complain about service or food… we’re not Karens. It was just that bad. We just had the audacity to order a single round of food at a restaurant and expect it to come out… not lukewarm or cold or vomit inducing. Food aside - the floors were tremendously sticky. We know our second waitress did her best — but something is clearly wrong with the front of house management and the kitchen management. I cannot stress this enough — until there is a major overhaul of staff and management — avoid this restaurant. You’ve got better uses for your time and money. There’s a reason they’re able to seat you quickly… and...
Read moreI am a fan of Cajun food. Every Saturday, I want to leave the old Mexican food in Daphne and go to the competing seafood restaurant area on hwy98. I will be rejected outside the popular restaurant. Why not! I couldn't order food. Otherwise, I had to wait 45 minutes to an hour on site. Today I found another Ruby restaurant in this area. I arrived an hour before they closed. As soon as I entered, the very suitable lighting and live music entered my mind. Ears, sophisiti-pop, smooth operator... chairs inlaid with saddle leather nails, pure white ironed and creased tablecloths, napkin wrapped tableware, I knew I was entering a classical high-end restaurant of another level, I didn't I'd say it's five-star, but it's close. If you have family or friends coming to Mobile to visit you, you won't be disappointed if you invite them here. Mahi fish is the first choice for fish steaks in high-end restaurants, and it's also served with crab meat. It’s very fresh. These are all made by hand and time. It takes 30 minutes from ordering to delivery, which is not too much at all. If you are used to eating American permanent food with a lot of preservatives, or MSG fast food with a lot of preservatives, you can eat it all night long. If you are always thirsty and looking for water, then this is not the place for you. The fresh steamed broccoli is soft and seasoned just right. This is the best thing I have ever eaten so far. I am not lying to you. The handsome bartender with curly hair, The service is excellent and the wine is delicious. Hey, funky monkey. Two people paid 60 with drinks. Any restaurant on this road costs less than $120. The mentality of consumers is very strange. It makes you in this East Mobile city. , pay after consumption the price of Cajun in the swamp area, charge you less money, but you will feel that the goods are not good, you paid too much and were consumed, you spent more money, you have a sense of presence, really, this is a good store, I I hope everyone will taste it carefully and wait patiently for their conscientious food. This is the best restaurant I have ever eaten on this road. The inside is better than the outside. It is noble but not expensive. I am afraid that they will not survive. When the time comes, I It would be a big loss to have to eat in New...
Read moreI went to this restaurant last Monday night (6/10/2024) and at first the staff was great. I got there an hour before my friends expecting to have to wait but I got a table almost immediately and the ladies that sat me down were amazing and super nice… However it took 45 min for the waitress to even come in the room the table was in, she only showed up a few times throughout the entire evening, when the food got there a lot of it was wrong and when we pointed it out she seemed to get an attitude with the people who pointed out their food was wrong. The tea she brought me was supposed to be sweet but it was unsweetened (that never got fixed even though she said just one minute), I ordered fried cat fish, okra, and Cole slaw… I was brought fried fish and fries…. When I mentioned this I was brought steamed veggies I told her that was not what I ordered she told me it is going to be a minute because she needs to get the other orders on the table too (which fair, I completely get that), when I finally got what I ordered everything was so bland it is unreal. The girl in front of me ordered a soup of some kind (I remembered it was supposed to have shell fish in it… specifically crab meat) it had nothing in it! The girl to my left got the Alfredo by the sea it was supposed to have shrimp and “lump crab meat” all it had was shrimp. I still had all of my Cole slaw, half my fish, half my okra, and half of the fries (they didn’t take back) that I wanted to take home with me and she already had to go boxes in her hand from giving some of the girls at my table so I asked for one she looked at my plate then continued walking away. Then the waitress finally comes with our checks and makes a joke about double swiping cards I had cash so no way I was handing her my card after that joke… I also realized that there was a baked potato on my tab that I did not order and I did not get.. She seemed really annoyed when I asked about it but she did take it off my tab. Well it takes 30+ min to get our change back and I get that it was only $0.37 but she brought my $8 back but I was supposed to get $8.37 back… and I get being upset about $0.37 is ridiculous but it’s also ridiculous to have all those problems during dinner and not get all...
