I thought I had reviewed this place before, but I guess I didn’t . If I had reviewed this a long time ago, I can do a review now. The food used to be really good here, and I love the chef, but man it is not good now.. we came there mid week a few weeks ago, and it took so long to get drinks, and the place was not busy at all. I think it probably took 15-20 minutes for her even to acknowledge that we were there. I ordered a drink, called the white linen, it was really good, it was vodka, St. Germain, Lacore, lemon juice, and seltzer, water, yummy!! hubby had some kind of whiskey, concoction and it tasted really good. And then it took forever to take our order, I ordered a flame mignon meal with a baked, potato, medium, rare, hubby ordered the salmon meal, with rice. I didn’t really eat anything on my plate. I ended up taking it home and my husband had it for lunch the next day, because he will eat anything.. I thought the filet mignon was kind of merely, and his salmon was really good, but I don’t know why they took the skin off, why didn’t they crisp the skin? He said the rice had no flavor whatsoever, it’s like the chef just puts it on the plate doesn’t think nothing about it, I can tell he really doesn’t like his job. We ordered the Cauliflower appetizer, and there was way too much breading on the cauliflower, and the stems were cut off, that was a bummer, the chef needs to go into the flowing tide that’s new in Spanish Springs, and have their cauliflower, it is really good and we keep making it at home. It still took a while when we ordered a few more drinks, service was OK. She was a really good girl, but you could tell that the management really doesn’t care anymore. We used to get this appetizer and it was a polenta cream polenta on the bottom with a shrimp on a stick with bacon. Oh my God it used to be delicious now their appetizers are so boring. I love the atmosphere, but what the heck happened to the food and service?? I don’t think we’ll be back again, this is about the fourth meal. I’ve had there in the last few years that was not good since they changed chefs. I think we’re done.

Last weekend, I dined at Red Hawk with a couple of friends. This was my first time there and I was craving a sandwich. Before taking a seat, I noticed they had chicken soup on the menu so I knew I wanted to try it. After perusing the menu, I saw 'The Hawk' and knew this was the one for me. When the meal arrived, I couldn't wait to dive into the soup. The cup didn't last long. The ingredients were incredibly fresh which led me to believe this was made in-house. Once I was done, I wished I'd had a bowl or a trough, even, it was THAT good. The sangwich hit the spot, too. The parmesan crust on the outside mixed perfectly with the ingredients inside. I ate half so I could take the other half with me to enjoy the next day. This was a trip well spent. I'm not a golfer so I don't have a reason to be out in suburbia but I will most certainly go back soon for another delicious item from the menu. Thanks for taking a moment to check this out.

David's Grill offers a delightful dining experience that's often overlooked. With its cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, this restaurant is a perfect spot for a casual meal or a special occasion. I recently had the pleasure of dining at David's Grill and was thoroughly impressed. The menu boasts a diverse range of options, from classic American fare to more sophisticated dishes. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the dessert was incredibly delicious. The portions were generous without being overwhelming. One of the highlights of my visit was the attentive service. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, making it easy to enjoy a leisurely meal. If you're looking for a hidden gem in Spanish Springs, David's Grill is definitely worth a visit. With its delicious food, friendly service, and cozy ambiance, it's a must-try for locals and visitors alike.

Went to David's for New Years Day breakfast. Good points: good service and decent mimosas. Bad points: they took away the chicken fried steak awhile back and we really missed it as it was the best around. Much to our surprise we saw it back on the menu(new menu too) and had to have it. Well this new version is really pretty bad. Extremely salty and is ordinary, same as any dive breakfast place....think Danny's except I would bet Denny's would be better. At 13 bucks this should be extraordinary. Country potatoes were so so, cooked too much and lacked pizazz. I ordeded eggs over easy. Nope came thoroughly cooked. For where this place is at and the prices on the menu everything should be top shelf across the board, but sadly not this breakfast. Also there was a waitress that clearly had a horrible cough and cold. Yet she is there coughing and not in her arm like you should if you are a server. She blew her nose at the bar and did not wash her hands before going back out to the floor. Disgusting! Glad she was not our server. David's better get it together or it will...
