On March 11, 2023, my wife and I were married at the Skyview Golf Club Ballroom. It was the best day of my life. The staff are thoughtful with incredible attention to detail and are quick to assist you in any of your needs. Hildegard in particular is fantastic and will go out of her way to make your day special and accommodate you.
However, I feel like I have no choice but to write a review that goes far more into the darker side of Skyview. We were informed on March 10th, less than 24 hours before our wedding and when we were dropping off materials, that the men's bathroom would be unavailable. We were assured that it would be taken care of. Confused and exhausted from the months of preparation for the wedding, we left curious how things would be taken care of.
We arrived to find a non-handicapped accessible portable restroom with two toilets for men. Not letting it ruin our special day, we danced, celebrated, and rejoiced with our loved ones. I was sad that my grandfather had to leave the wedding early due to the restroom and my other grandfather had trouble, but I put it in the back of my mind.
A few days after the event, we reached out to Skyview to let them know that the situation didn't sit right with us. We weren't told about the situation, weren't given a choice, and were left to live with the consequences. When we asked if they could make it up to us given the heartache and inconvenience, management responded aggressively. They suggested that they should have charged more for the wedding due to inflation or that they could have cancelled the wedding instead of paying thousands of dollars for a "luxury" portable bathroom. Only after refusing to take any responsibility for the frustration and guilting us for even suggesting that they make it up to us, did management ask his staff to "extend [his] apologies."
Quite frankly, we were stunned. It was obvious to us that the women's restrooms should have just been made gender neutral, we should have been told about the situation as soon as it was known, and a small concession could have been made for the inconvenience. In fact, when we arrived at the venue, the women's room was gender neutral for the entire day leading up to the event since the "luxury" portable toilets took several hours to set up. Thankfully, we did not have anyone in attendance who needed access to a handicapped restroom or otherwise we would have no choice but to have had a difficult conversation forced upon us by the actions of Skyview's management.
We let management know we were offended by his response and that they incurred thousands of dollars and made the situation worse on himself than it would have been if they contacted us. Frankly, the way the situation was handled was entirely unprofessional and completely out of line with our other experiences with Skyview. They suggested we read their reviews and that we should still review Skyiew positively or they would exercise their "right to respond and defend their actions."
I did just that. I encourage you to take a look at the way Skyview responds to negative reviews. I think it says a lot about the management of the venue and, unfortunately, Skyview itself. I wish I read these before booking here.
While I can't bring myself to give anything less than a five-star review, I think it is important that I bring this situation to light and that, hopefully, this helps someone else and can avoid heartache. Skyview is an amazing venue and has some incredible views and features. However, if you are ever put in a situation where you have to deal with their management or are forced to be in a position where management makes a decision for you, I pity you and wish you the best of luck. You will only incur wrath, frustration and pain. Afterwards, you will be told to be grateful and get a half-hearted apology if you send several emails and even then only in passing. It will be hard to get that taste out of our mouths, but we are thankful to have had a perfect day, despite the lack of restrooms and the frustration...

The venue itself is GORGEOUS. The photos do it no justice, so itâs worth taking the trip up there to see it with your own eyes. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot, we knew this was where weâd be having our wedding. The reception space is recently renovated and is absolutely stunning. The ballroom is larger and has all hardwood flooring, which we loved, and the new cocktail hour space is so spacious and beautiful. Both rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows, so you can see the beautiful landscape even from the ballroom.
Michelle was with us through most of the process, from our very first visit to our wedding day, and she was so, so amazing! Leading up to the wedding, she always provided a ton of information and answered all of my e-mails quickly and thoroughly. She is very detail-oriented and made sure every last piece of our wedding day was exactly how we wanted it. Because of her, the day went off without a hitch - she organized our bridal party, coordinated all of the vendors, and helped with last-minute requests (like when I requested extra ceremony chairs for us and the bridal party, about a half hour before the wedding was going to start). Our other maitre dâ Lindsey was also fantastic! Once the reception started, she took care of us from start to finish. She got us food and drinks at cocktail hour so that we could socialize, and she always offered to get new drinks even if ours were just warm, not empty. The most impressive thing was that my husband told her the #1 thing he wanted to do at the wedding was eat dinner - well, we happened to be outside taking sunset photos when dinner was about to be served, so she RAN out to meet us and let us know. I was so grateful that she really took to heart our requests and made sure we were 100% happy with our day.
Overall I definitely recommend checking out SkyView for your wedding! It was gorgeous, the food was delicious, the service was out of this world, and it was pretty affordable as far as New Jersey golf...
Read moreSkyView is an absolute dream! We got married on 11/5 on what happened to be one of the warmest weekends in November (75 degrees!) We were initially going to get married indoors since November is usually chilly, but switched at the last minute and we're so glad we did. The views are breathtaking, the food is delicious, and we truly had a great time.
Guests raved about the food and ambiance. There's so much food at the cocktail hour that it's so hard to select what to have because everything sounds so good. We did opt to add on the dessert table (Parisienne table) and I'm glad we did that - our guests loved the ice cream sundae bar.
I must admit the entire day ran so smoothly from start to finish thanks to our vendors. From the photographers to the DJ - our vendors were preferred vendors of SkyView so they're familiar with the venue - I couldn't have asked for anything more from them.
Throughout the planning process, I communicated with Jenn via email and she was always helpful, answering any questions I had and always quick to respond. I also communicated with Hildegard a few times and she was helpful as well. Hildegard was our maitre d the day-of and kept everything running smoothly but Jenn was there as well. They both made sure we had food to eat during the cocktail hour and something to drink.
Speaking of, Jenn, Hildegard, and team did an amazing job of setting up all the decor I had. I had opted to use fake florals instead of hiring a florist, so I was worried it would be a lot for them to set up - centerpieces for all the tables and decor for tables in other spots. They didn't bat an eye at all the boxes I had and set up everything perfectly! It was exactly what I had envisioned.
SkyView is a beautiful venue and I'd rate the whole experience of having a wedding there a 10/10. I am hoping that my friends who aren't engaged yet consider SkyView as their venue so I could go back and relive my...
