Ha's Chinese — Restaurant in Sparta

We have been long time customers of Ha's. Have always loved their prices and the food is decent. Tonight my husband and I took our 19 year old daughter and our 23 month old toddler. The 19 year old was talking animatedly about her future career goals. Then the toddler started to get restless and was beginning to fuss so we played with him for a few minutes to calm him down. An older woman leaned over the seperator and rudely told us that we were being loud and ruining her Friday night dinner. What she didn't know was that my daughter is autistic and sometimes has a hard time knowing how loud she is. We are working on it, but there are times when she is louder (and I have adjusted to the volume so don't always note it). The owner of the store didn't say anything to us after the incident, but actually checked on the older lady! If anyone had bothered to say something NICELY we could have explained things to them and asked our daughter to please try to keep it down. Instead they were rude and thoughtless, and loud themselves. That woman spent maybe $14 on her and her friends meal (only drank water); we have spent who knows how much. I am so disappointed. If your looking for the common Chinese buffet experience you are use to, this is not the buffet for you. However, if your looking for a friendly down home small town atmosphere with great food then this is the one for you. Good service, great food, and small town conversations make for a wonderful dining experience. My only reservation, keeping me from giving a full five stars, is the rather small selection of food they offer, although for some people the superb quality of food and atmosphere may be enough to over look the lackluster buffet selections. Our family liked the dishes we tried from here. We had the Sweet & Sour Chicken, Orange Chicken and Chicken Lo Mein. All were delicious and had generous portions. The owners were very friendly and answered all the questions we had. We'll definitely be back.

Update (June 14, 2025): I changed my review from 4 to 5 stars. We ordered the Chicken Chow Mein and the Moo Goo Gai Pan. The Chow Mein was DELICIOUS!! My new favorite dish for sure.
