Oh my! I love this place! I went there with my wife and 2 other couples. And ALL 6 of us felt it was the best burger joint we've ever eaten at.
The burgers; the patty itself is nothing special. It's hand patted right there, and at 1/3lb. isn't very impressive. It's simply a hamburger patty. However, the homemade brioche bun and the rest of the burgers' contents more than make up for that. Their combinations are outstanding.
The fries; also fantastic. I ordered chille cheese fries since that was recommended with my particular burger choice. Yet after tasting my wife's regular fries I would rather have had them plain. So delicious.
One of my buddies commented that he "always" puts ketchup on his fries and usually adds ketchup to his burgers. But he did neither this time.
The bakery; (sorry B & B) this is the area that we weren't too impressed with. The deserts were good. But that's it, just good. Maybe our tastebuds are geared up for deserts that are much sweeter and rich.
The owners/staff; everyone was great, very friendly and accommodating. The chef came out and greeted us with a great disposition and asked if any of us tried the 18" burger. That's right 18 inch burger. I don't know if he was joking or not because he was smiling and cutting up a bit. But he sure seemed serious about it's existence.
We'll definitely be back. We'll definitely recommend B&B to everyone that's going out for burgers, and even those that aren't.
One more thing, they are a bit on the pricey side for a small burger joint. My wife and I had a burger combo each with a drink and the total was $37. The deserts were separate. But I don't connect the price with the fact that it was "just a burger and fries". This isn't a run-of the-mill fast food joint. It's craft burgers. And they're delicious. I connect the price with how much I enjoyed the food, service, and experience. In this case, it's worth it.
Well done Burgers & Bakery. I hope you stay in business for a long time.
Update 09-26-20; Our second trip was just as good. A noteworthy moment was when the server brought my burger. She looked at it after placing it on the table, then said "that's not enough bacon, I'll have them make some more and bring it out to you". About 10 minutes later she brings out a whole breakfast plate worth of bacon. I placed all I needed on my burger and still had enough left over to pile into the other compartment of my "to-go" box (see the pic).
In a word, OVERDELIVER!
Another fine dining...
Read moreNice little restaurant with great food and atmosphere, very cozy. I went solo on a Monday just after peak hours(about 1), lots of people were leaving as I came in so I was able to park fairly easily after having to let other people through. The place is clean and after ordering I sat myself (I chose inside), there were a few options and plenty of room outside too(I saw the tables outside had umbrellas for shade). Although I was alone, I can see it’s fairly easy to rearrange tables and chairs if you have a bigger party. Otherwise, most options are 2/4 seaters. Anyways, I ordered the Philly Burger (I believe that was the name, I could be wrong). It was absolutely delicious and not too messy as may be expected. I got the regular fries and they are to die for, slight crunch and not greasy, clearly seasoned but has a nice subtle flavor (perfect of a side because it’s not too overwhelming), and they weren’t too salty either!! Price wise it was reasonable, I put $20-30 because with a side/drink/tip it came out to ~$22, I wasn’t in the mood for sweets that day but presumably most people order them, so I expect on average you will be in that range. I did have to wait 20-30 minutes for my food to arrive. Which I do think that is a little long considering I was alone, but it seems the kitchen was simply a little behind as it was just after the rush. I noticed a few people arrived after me (them being parties of 2-4) and they got their food in a shorter amount of time, so I don’t think it’s much of an issue. The server also came back to make sure I was enjoying everything and didn’t need anything. Other than that, I observed they cleaned tables pretty quickly after people left, helping to maintain that clean environment. Overall this is a lovely little place and I can clearly see why they become so busy, and I will definitely be back to try other things...
Read moreBurgers and Bakery is truly a hidden gem. Tucked away in an old house surrounded by trees, it has one of the most unique and charming atmospheres I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant. It feels like you're stepping into someone’s cozy home—but with gourmet burgers.
The lady running the place was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the menu is filled with unique burger creations that are packed with flavor. Seriously, the burger I had was so good I’d eat it again and again, even though it wasn’t piping hot when it arrived. Same goes for the fries—they came out a little cold, but they were still delicious, which says a lot.
One of the coolest things they offer is unlimited canned sodas. Never seen that before, and it was a nice touch that added to the experience.
Now, keeping it honest—there’s definitely room for improvement in the seating. The wooden chairs are super low and extremely uncomfortable. Everyone in my group felt the same. I actually had to stand up most of the time and even wandered downstairs to check out the little coffee shop because I couldn’t sit any longer. The wait for the food was also a bit long, and I could tell my food had been sitting a little while waiting for the rest of the table’s orders.
That said, none of that takes away from the fact that this place is worth visiting. It’s a cool, one-of-a-kind spot with great food, great people, and a vibe that’s hard to find anywhere else. I hope the owner considers some small changes to the seating situation, because with just a few tweaks, this place would be unbeatable. Highly recommend giving it a try—you...
