I gave this beautiful little bistro only 1 star because I stopped in on my way home from Spokane and I was Starvin' Marvin. I'd had a very intensive event followed by a hotel stay that allowed me a whole 2 hours of sleep before driving home to Clarkston. I saw the sign when I stopped for gas and thought, Wonderful, I can get Real Food! I walked up and after admiring the outside décor I went inside and was shocked. It's Beautiful and smells too far past wonderful to describe. I was greeted kindly. He asked how he could help me. I told him I was checking the nice place out that I didn't know was there. In fact I am pretty sure it's new--sh. I was so hungry. He pointed out the paper menus for me to look at and left. I figured he'd come back and seat me. I stood there for almost 20 minutes. The food is prepared in front so I got to watch the chef's work. Smelled like Heaven. The 2 tables that were occupied had smiling clientele at them. They had a terrific wine selection. There were not many vegetarian friendly dishes on the menu but the options they had were incredibly tempting. If I'd been offered a seat I would tell you how wonderful they were. I had to walk to the grocery store across the lot and buy minestrone and a little bread so I could have some food. Haha Today I called them to see if I needed to make reservations or something so I could try them next time but nobody answers phone. I thought maybe they're only open for breakfast and lunch. Their hours here are posted much later. I am not a wine drinker and that seemed to be the biggest thing they had going for them. Food smelled great but not a pleasant expression in the kitchen. Service is most important to me so I doubt I will be going back to this place I had so hoped would live up to its seeming potential. The people coming out as I was eating soup in my car freezing looked very happy. If you have time to waste, check them out. Small but Great menu. If you want to Eat and receive Service,...
Read moreNice folks and inside. A nice variety on the menu. Family went today for early lunch and there were only a few tables being served. We had ordered an olive sampler appetizer then one had a salad, the other had a salad with chicken and I had the tri tip French dip with salad side. It took about 40 minutes to get the olive sampler and another 5 to get our meal. So front of staff and back of house appear to be very disorganized. Apps should never ever ever come later than 10 minutes after ordering. One of the salads was a gorgonzola based salad. And it was definately was as advertised because there was 1 solitary small gorgonzola crumble. Ummmmmm. Again, back of house and front of house not paying attention to detail and consistency. When the server came around to check on us after about 10 minutes, we mentioned the gorgonzola and they graciously took the plate back to correct and it came back appropriately as it should have come the first time. My side salad was good greens with a vinaigrette that was good, but was too lightly dressed. Next time I might ask for an extra side. The French dip au jus was definately home made and had a nice flavor. And appropriate amount for the sandwich to fully dunk away. Now based on the many French dip places I've been too, I would say they are a bit small, where the two halves would normally be roughly a normal have with a typical one. That being said, it was flavorful, bread was nice and over, for someone who should be watching their food intake, was appropriately portioned - but I think some people may think way too undersized. Prices were fair for the quality of ingredients. We definately will return to give it...
Read moreDo you know about the hidden gem, only five minutes from downtown Spokane? If you're looking for a great place to eat, I recommend trying out the local bistro. They have friendly staff, and I'm sure you'll enjoy your experience there.
Their wine list is exceptional, but tonight, we decided to try their cocktails.
Get ready to tantalize your taste buds with these incredible drinks and appetizers! Start with a Heat Wave cocktail that packs a punch with vodka, jalapeño, passionfruit liquor, and triple sec. Or, try a refreshing Pomegranate Margarita made with tequila, pomegranate, lime, and triple sec.
Indulge in a Butter Board layered with smoked honey butter and rosemary, served with delicious applesauce with pistachio and sourdough bread. And don't miss out on the Carrots that are cooked to perfection with smoked honey butter and blackened dill, served with pork rinds. It's no wonder why these Carrots are so addictive
The beet salad with a brown butter vinaigrette, frisee, and crispy onions was a good side choice My hubby ordered the steaks and couldn't stop raving about how it was comparable to Churchills - that's how good it was! As for me, I got the halibut; it was a good-sized portion. The chard vegetables- asparagus, were delicious. And the best part? We ended our meal with a warm, gooey blueberry cobbler that was just divine!
Oh, I almost forgot! There are no kid's menus, but our server suggested either pizza or they can serve butter noodles
