TLDR: Way too little, way too expensive. incredibly mediocre. Made us feel sick, and the person I ordered with hated it, calling the burrito 'inedible'.
We got delivery due to the doordash app showing the food being really high quality and decent portion size for what it charged. If you are reading this deciding where to eat and have looked at their menu reconsider. I ordered the Fried Chicken Tacos Combo, a beef and potato taco, a churro, and the alaska flounder taco. My roommate got the Grilled Burrito and the Boss Burrito. First thing, the beef and potato taco was so small. It contained probably a tablespoon and a half of meet and 3 potato rounds. Looked nothing like the picture, tiny tortilla, and tasted pretty mediocre given the lack of any real flavor the meat has beyond cumin and basic taco seasoning. The fried chicken taco also looked nothing like the picture being a third of the size, a different kind of lettuce altogether, and having a different batter type. It tasted like grocery store deli fried chicken tenders on another small tortilla with enough spicy sauce to try and make you ignore that you can barely taste chicken at all. the alaska flounder however tasted really good, and was decent size due to the extra fillings though still way smaller than advertised. It however contained so little fish that I simply couldn't taste it. Texturally, it was also so soft that I didn't notice ever taking a bite of it. If I hadn't looked you could have convinced me I somehow got the vegetarian version. The potato rounds were alright, clearly just a fried version of what you can buy at a grocery store but serviceable. The churro was by far the best thing I had despite being just pretty average for a churro. Weirdly greasy, but it's a churro so that's fine. My roommate complained at length about the grilled burrito being weirdly greasy and the meat having a bad taste. The Big Boss burrito on the other hand he threw out after a few bites despite the obnoxious price. He complained that despite being mainly rice and beans, the rice was overcooked. The chicken (he ordered steak, so that was a mess up) was dry and overcooked too. After saying it's inedible he threw it away. My stomach has not been agreeing with the food either, as with my roommate. This is the single worst experience I've ever had with tex-mex food period. Not just comparing to dine in restaurants but also taco bell, del taco, and taco time. The portions were pathetic to boot when the 'big boss' costs twice as much as a giant burrito from Atilanos to which actually tastes good. Do...
Read moreBeen eating at this restaurant for years even worked here for a few years. I eat door dash every single day but Taco John's isn't on Door Dash which is a fail in my opinion. But I haven't went to eat because drive thru times are incredibly long compared to other places in town but I really want some grilled chicken burritos and taco burgers. Ordered 3 grilled chicken burritos, 6 taco burgers and 2 crispy chicken burritos one of those with no tomato my son can't do tomatoes. I pay my total which was close to 60$ which is totally fine but then the girl at window immediately has me pull forward when there was no one behind my car. I wait couple minutes and I hear car behind me order 5 taco burgers so I know they are now gonna give my taco burgers to someone else. So I wait and they get two cars out before me I waited in total almost 17 mins . When the girl I believe her name was Angela came out I asked if the cook labeled my "no tomato" burrito and she paused then said "yes she did" . I knew she had no clue but I went home anyway to find out both my burritos had tomatoes and very little nacho cheese or veggies and was extremely cold. Sad I can't enjoy Taco John's anymore I've eaten there for 20 plus years i wish we had a different store location with different management so we could eat...
Read moreWe keep giving this place another chance--hoping they will get it right but they just can't do it. Bean & Cheese burritos are randomly normal size, then the next time half size--we never know what we will get---but we are always charged FULL price....quite the racket. We reached out to the company but no one responded. Figured today we would ask for extra beans (even if we had to pay extra) what we got were burritos that were the size they are supposed to be.....so FYI...if you want a normal size burrito here, ask for extra beans. We ordered 2 churros that we had to throw away because they were rock hard and dry as sawdust (at a ridiculous $2 a piece). Pretty sure we have given the Spokane Taco John's all the last, last, last chances we are willing to. They just updated their menu with a hefty price hike. They weren't worth the money BEFORE they raised prices.
The last time we went in we had to ask for a table to be cleaned off. The girl working made a poor attempt at washing the table but left all kinds of food and crumbs on the booth seats. The people who work here are nice enough ---but not very good...
