Capsized Cafe — Restaurant in Spring Lake Heights

I love this place. Perfect local gem my wife and I always leave full and happy with a great service.

The place is local for sure. The staff usually are talking about local sports or the beach. There is a good mix of older customers and young families, always a good sigh you can cater to both audiences.

My favorite meal is the Tacos Del Capitan. Amazing breakfast tacos with a spicy red sauce to die for. I'm a big guy and they are robust. My wife enjoys the omelets and their home fries are always perfectly crispy with a satisfying flavor.

Every experience we had the waitress was kind and attentive, but they're also used to letting people linger and you never feel like a bother while you finish your coffee.

I'll take this over the diner any day and love a little local flavor in my breakfast.

I go there regularly. The only issue I have is the pancakes are way over priced. $3.25 a pancake. They are large depending on who is cooking them. The guy with the dark long hair usually does pretty good but the other guy with the long blondish hair who sometimes cooks them needs to learn how to pour the batter. Yesterday I ordered 3 but the batter was almost out. I ended up with 2 fairly small pancakes with the 3rd one even smaller. It cost me almost $10.00 for that. But even when the there is plenty of batter he still makes them to small. In the future I won't even except them if they are not large enough. They are supposed to cover a good part of the plate. What I got yesterday was more like a kid's portion. Other than that everything else is good. The coffee is always fresh and the servers are always great...

Wow, yeah, this place is a banger. Every single time I go to Capsized Cafe (which is a lot I may add) the food is perfect. Absolutely delicious. They have monthly specials that simply never miss. The people here are very kind and a real vibe. Service is awesome, I'm never waiting on anything long. The prices are also beyond good for the banger food you receive.
