Stopped in on a whim Sunday afternoon. We were welcomed immediately by Janelle. Sat at the bar. Janelle is quick witted, funny and great at her job. Not only are the employees friendly, the patrons are as well. The drinks are quite tasty. The atmosphere is warm and inviting while offering nostalgic historical charm. Once you meet the owners, Durrell and Carol, you’ll understand the pride they have in this business. He has family history with the previous owners and building. His family put in countless hours of themselves to preserve the integrity of what once was, and did a remarkable job of it too! We were lucky enough to get a tour of the original speakeasy and I can’t say enough how fascinating that was! This will for sure be a regular spot for us.

Was here in their second night open. A few huge parties slowed down the kitchen a little, but when the food came out it was amazing. The frycuterie board was excellent. The sweet potato fries with the syrup was out of this world. The giant spiraled potatoes are wonderful, had them at another place and am very happy to see them here. The rueben bites are extremely fresh and good. They are cold and go down way too easy. The white lightening wings were awesome and we're super crispy, which is exactly the way I like my wings. Overall a very good place with a very friendly atmosphere. The interior is gorgeous. Will be back again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Black Sheep Tavern is the real deal. The Smashburger is one of the best I’ve had, hands down. And the drinks? They’ve got local PA liquors I’ve never even heard of—it makes every cocktail feel fresh and unique. I’m obsessed with the Pickletini, no shame. Kate, Sam, and Mary are wonderful—attentive, friendly, and down-to-earth. And let’s talk about Janelle a total legend behind the bar. She’s quick, witty, and always has something fun up her sleeve. Family-run, hardworking, and full of heart—support this place, they deserve it. #SupportLocal #SupportSmall

First time here. We heard rumors about the giant fry board so we we had to check it out. It was no joke, I thought It would have been a small board but it wasn't. It was a big plate of regular cut fries, sweet potato fries and round cut "chips". All the sauces were homemade and that made it even better. All the sauces were amazing. The owner then came up to us and talked to us for a few minutes. That was very nice to see the actual owner care enough to come talk to their costumer. I got the wings and a italian sub and the wife got the meat loaf dinner. The wings were top notch. Pickel wings that I hope they put on the menu full time cause they were awesome. I got a side of hot sauce with them that too it was above and beyond. The sub was ok, just an ordinary sub. But it was good. The wife loved her meatloaf just different with gravy instead of a bbq sauce like were used too. But it was a good meatloaf. The mashed potatoes tasted like box mashed potatoes so that would be the only negative thing I would have to give. The waitress we had was awsome and very nice. I like how they have a late night menu too. The late night menu has a lot on it as well, not just chips and a meat tray. They have actually late night food. We're out of the way a little bit but I would defiantly come back. It was a great atmosphere, delious food, and good costumer service. Just need to add more of a drink/beer menu. Greet job overall. Look forward to...

I came in here for food and a drink. The food was insanely expensive, I noticed on the menu it was $15 for a burger. For being that expensive it better be the best burger in berks county. My friend got it and Unfortunately it was not the best, nor was it big. The bun was freezing cold which is strange with a hot burger. I could’ve gone to Wendy’s and gotten a thicker and better burger. The fries were also not good they tasted frozen. We also got separate checks for alcohol and food which is ridiculous.

While I was in there I noticed a young boy be sick in the restaurant which was off-putting, but the worst was how the staff treated him and his mother. While he was taken to the restroom the staff appeared to be saying nasty things to each other and didn’t seem at all concerned. The worst though was when the boy and his mother came back out the staff member screamed at them to get out. Now I’ve worked in food service and I know it sucks to clean up a mess like that and be stressed at how it will affect other customers. However there was absolutely no call for a staff member to scream at a young boy. She didn’t even ask if he was alright. Considering it may have been her FOOD that made him sick you’d think she’d have been nicer.

Looking through the negative reviews here all I see are excuses and disputes from the staff, no genuine explanations or apologies. I’m certainly never coming back nor...

Recently, while visiting our son and family who live in Sinking Spring, PA, we greatly enjoyed an evening meal at the Black Sheep Tavern and wanted to send a positive review of our experience.. The parking lot was filled with vehicles…sending a positive vibe immediately! We had a party of 10 people who the staff accommodated quickly by moving tables around so we could sit together. The time spent ordering our food and being served was exceptionally quick in spite of the packed restaurant. All the food was delicious! I had the roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy. My wife had a salad which was huge and filled with fresh vegetables and crisp mixed greens. The “Loaded Tots” were amazing and could have been a meal by itself. We recommend topping off your meal with one of their dessert options, especially the Chocolate Truffle Bomb! The waitress and staff were very pleasant. Even Adam, the owners’ son, took time from his busy job in the kitchen to visit with us as he knows our son and granddaughter. What a delightful and personable young man! We had a very enjoyable evening!! We would frequent this restaurant often, but we live in Colorado and will have to wait until our next trip to PA. Having dinner at the Black Sheep Tavern will definitely be at the top of our list of...
