My wife and I travel around a lot playing disc golf courses. One of our favorite things to try when we're traveling, then, is to stop a local family restaurants. We were in town here to try Faylor Lake's course and stopped for a pre-round lunch at Rayauda's.
From the moment we pulled up I knew we chose right. It's just a cute little building with plenty of welcoming signage. Walk in to the classic front counter selling candy and gum when you pay. We sat at a booth and a waitress with with us right away. She got our drinks promptly and they had our food order out quickly. My wife got a salad and waffle fries. I got the Crispy Chicken Salad. I was not disappointed at all. They brought me plenty of dressing. The fried chicken tenders on the salad were very good. We've all had disgusting chicken tenders but these were good meat with a nice breading and well cooked. The waffle fries my wife got were excellent. They were crispy and far better than those at say Chick-fil-A for a comparison.
We arrived just before noon which was excellent timing. As the next half hour went along the place filled up fast with locals. The staff was hustling to get food out. Having worked in a small town restaurant a long time ago, I know how much work it can be. They were doing a great job of serving everyone.
PREDICTION: This restaurant already seems immensely popular with the local crowd. It's situated right in town, sitting minutes from Faylor Lake. That disc golf course is now ranked 26th in the world and is quickly becoming a destination spot. This restaurant is in a unique position to become the go to spot for traveling...
Read moreHeaded over for breakfast but it is no longer served anytime & just missed it... My Auntie who I was escorting chose to stay there for lunch. We both enjoyed Tuna salad & soup. Food was fresh & prepared just as we ordered. Chili was fantastic! Not just full of beans but was thick from being simmered properly & was full of meat. The other soup ordered at table was Ham&Bean. Tried that & was good but had hard boiled eggs as chicken corn soup might have. I never encountered that before. Looked peculiar but didn't seem to effect taste. The broth was NOT thick at all but clear & looked like water. As I said earlier it was good but different than I expected to see or would prepare myself. Waitress was NOT attentive at all & only came back to table after serving to bring check never checked back few minutes after serving to see if we needed anything or if food okay. If she would have I would have had Chili hearted a bit more as it was barely warm-...
Read moreEasily one of the worst restaurants I've ever been too. Was driving through PA. Had not eaten yet today. Left out at 7am, got to this restaurant around 3pm, and left out hungry, only paying for food for them to throw away. I had two bites of it. One, then loaded it down with salt and pepper (hoping to make it taste more then slime & lumps,) one more bite trying to force myself to eat my order, and talked to the server. The server's response was "well, if you don't like the food here, then don't come back." Easy enough for us. We are 4 hours from home. On the pro side of things they are the only restaurant in a 30 mile radius. They taught me that even when I am starving any food is not good enough food to eat. I couldn't eat it. So, with that said.. No competition. They do not need to have good food or service. Highly recommend you to go to the next town or back...
