First let’s start with the good. Our server Locklyn was one of the best servers that we have experienced in a long time. Kind, Very attentive and really knew what it takes to make a table feel at home in a public setting. After speaking with her, we found out it was only her third day. We visited on a Friday and we were slightly after a large rush and we couldn’t never have known from her poise and professional attitude. Highly recommend. Now for the food, at least my food. Wife’s food looked really good. Mine on the other hand, not so much. Ordered my New York Strip medium and it came out well done. I cut it in four slices and no pink at all. Showed our waitress and she knew instantly. I’m not a fan of reorders so I chose to just eat my sweet potato and be happy. I made sure she knew that I wasn’t upset with her for the mistake because she obviously wasn’t the cook. Reassured her that she was doing well. When she came back to the table she let me know that the food was removed from my bill which I appreciated. As I sat there watching my wife eat her food, I expected a manager to approach the table to apologize or at least acknowledge the fail of the cooks. To my surprise this did not happen. I’m blown away that they would approve the discount but never check on the customer. I then asked for the manager and my main intention was to praise our waitress and let him know she was doing an amazing job. He said she was definitely one of their top servers and scored high on their test. I then mentioned the steak situation and he said, “Oh yea, yours was over cooked.” I said yea, so you knew about it and chose to let the waitress take the heat for it? He had nothing to say. I’m blown away that I was told their were managers on staff tonight and no one cared to double check on the situation. I asked who trained the cooks and he stated that the owner does. I won’t place any type of blame on training as I know it’s hard to find good work but I guess my main concern is that the managers would let a new server take the blunt of a mistake. I dont come to this location much but when I do, it’s usually the best decision I make that night. Tonight , not so much. The manager said the owner or his daughter would read this so I’m curious on if I...
Read moreMy favorite meal is the 9oz filet. The server was excellent, but the cook/cooks have been disappointing. I returned to Brown Derby recently with a parent. This first night, my filet was great, so good. In fact, I decided to go again on a Tuesday.
I order medium to medium rare. It came out very well done , they remade a new one but it came out very rare, and it tasted like scorched plastic.
I Had it removed from the bill as the server was excellent. She gave me 2 cookies 🍪 for our troubles and I split my wife's plate.
Tried going back a third time for that perfect filet.
This time, on a saturday night, about 1.5 hrs before close. I had high hopes
My filet ordered medium came out too raw for me to eat. Remembering what happened when I sent it to be recooked the last visit 4 days ago. I boxed it and brought it home to feed to my dog.
I am not going back. 3 filets , 2 I paid for, were not edible.
I worked here years ago, and I remember cooks not wanting to waste the expensive filets so they would cook the oldest well-done or hockey puck to avoid having to throw them out.
I don't know if they still do this, but the first filet ordered medium , that came out very well, done did not taste very good as I tried a small piece to see if I could just eat it anyway. It was not edible to me.
The server was excellent and did all she could, but she couldn't cook the food.
Bad timing or a new cook, maybe. I'm not sure, but for the price of those 9oz filets, they should be perfect or close to it every time. I was as honest as I could be, hope your...

Wifie and I saw it on our on our way up to Sandusky and decided to have dinner there on the way home. We got there around 3:30 and the place was already busy. There was about a half hour wait so we went and sat at the bar and a couple of tall bud lights. My only complaint of the whole evening was the bar tender was in a bad mood and was short with wifie. It took about 35 minutes to get a table which was fine. Our waiter was Mark and he was incredible. He suggested the cheese balls for an appitizer and they were definitely worth having... And the dipping sauce was out of this world combination. Worth driving up there for just the cheese balls. I ordered the cowboy cut steak which was 25 ounces. Wifie ordered the weekend special 16 ounce t bone. They meal comes with a salad which is a big bowl that we got to share (like olive garden does) which was really good we opted for the italian dressing. The rolls were rolls - nothing special there. When the steaks came out - OMG - that was one big chunk for meat... Very good prepared just the way I like it medium rare with grilled onions and mushrooms. AWESOME too much to eat in ons sitting though. Wifie's T bone was great also - she is not much of a steak person but you really can't get chicken at a steak place. All and all it was a great experience... It will be worth the drive to go back there in the future......
