The Cove Coffee Shop and Pizza Company — Restaurant in Springfield Township

The Cove Coffee shop is a quaint coffee shop in Ontario not far from the schools. The staff was very nice and helpful. The store and sitting area was super clean. The drinks made were exactly what I ordered. They even have nitro coffee and tea. Nicely laid out and the large sitting area with tables was great. Will definitely make visits here more frequent. A giant improvement from the last owner of the coffee shop. 2/8/20 stopped in again and they have improved on they have 4 large areas with sofas and plenty of seating in second section between coffee shop and pizza joint. Why in the heck is this place not packed on a Saturday. They have WiFi, they have great drinks they have great snacks plus a pizza place you do not have to go outside to get a good pizza. This is a place high school and college age kids should be all on they even have a Pac Man and Galaga stand up arcades. Do yourself a favor get 4-5 friends and just go hang out here. Just went in 4/15/21 and wow they have bumped up their game. They bought the pizza place next door and integrated it into the coffee shop. It is even better now. Next time I go in I'm hoping I can get a bagel pizza this coffee shop keeps bringing their A game. Update 8/2/2022. In the past I had a problem with their pizza and I hope and I'm pretty sure they have that buttoned up by now. No what I'm here to preach about is the Scrumdiddlyumptious pizza bagel I just had with pepperoni. This has to be a menu item. Pizza bagels are simply killer and the ones they make are absolutely awesome. Just make sure you say light cheese. They hit the ball out of the park. The Coffee shop is great and especially since they have nitro coffee also. Definitely get off your butt and ask them to put Pizza Bagels on as a standard. I would not recommend going here, there are more consistent coffee shops around. The coffee's usually great, but the owner is extremely contentious and refuses to accept responsibility for mistakes. I've ordered dozens, maybe hundreds of coffees here and the owner has convinced me to go elsewhere.

Once, weeks ago, they made my coffee incorrectly just before closing. My husband brought it home, I got a drink, and it was missing the caramel + white chocolate flavoring, and was definitely not what I'd paid for -- Digusting! I was disappointed, but mistakes happen, no big deal. I came in the next morning to pick up replacement coffee and asked if they could cover the incorrectly made coffees the night before. They said they'd need to get it to a manager and that was the last I'd heard of it until today.

Today my husband was stopped by the owner insisting that the coffee was bad because I didn't drink it quickly enough, he tried to explain that wasn't the issue (I leave them in the refrigerator overnight and they're still fine) but she kept arguing until he asked for a number I could call to talk to her at. I called and she repeatedly implied I was lying or just flat out wrong. She still refused to refund or replace the poorly made coffees and also insisted there was no way her people could be making coffees differently one time than the others (?????).

Not a great choice for coffee, ordered an espresso and it was extremely watery. Not what you would expect from a commercial espresso machine. The next time I got a latte, it was much colder than it should have been so they didn’t steam the milk long enough. Then I asked where they get their coffee from and when it was roasted, and the girl said she had no idea. Maybe their pizza is good but I won’t stick around to find out. For a place that claims to love coffee they sure don’t put much time or effort into making good coffee.
