Every time I have gone here we get the same thing and the recipe is always different this time I had them send it back I am currently pregnant. I was about to cry when I saw the food on how it looked and how it was prepared I asked them to remake it. The waitress looked stunned. Like I had a complaint. I told her I always get this omelette. It’s never looked like this. I tell her to please take it back and remake it like the way it is on the menu And she takes Bring it back in two minutes when she’s just thrown it all in the omelette and this time the cheese wasn’t even melted onions were so overpowering. There was more onions than there Or hashbrowns in the Miami omelette. The only thing I was able to eat was. The over medium eggs and a bite of the biscuit and gravy man went up and paid the waitress and I saw with my own eyes and we go up there and I’m like just making Everything’s taken care of it’s all paid for and the guy up there was like no it hasn’t been paid for and we’re like well. We paid the lady we paid her $40 and. Didn’t pay me anything and I’m saying out really loud well I did see him give you the money and I said it loud enough where people were looking she said oh yeah I remember now here it is Took that money that my man gave them and paid for it, but for the fact that they tried to say we didn’t pay when I saw him hand, the waitress the money, and she tried to lie about it until I got a little loud saying while I saw my man hand you the money, so where did that money go Here it is my bad and I told them we need any of it. It was made after being sent back so we just left our food there and we will never be back and I will make sure I spread the word to every local website every review site to let people to let people know how crooked they are and we’re regulars there and every single time we have had an issue they get attitude they never want to refill our drinks. It takes over 10 minutes just to get a refill when the diner is almost completely empty just Will not be back and I hope everybody he read this does not come at me side Because you can use the pictures as reference that was the made not the first time. Wish I would’ve got a picture of the first time so you would understand what I’m...
Read moreThe food was not excellent, but it was good. If you're looking for a place to get a cheap meal with plenty of food and you don't care about service, cleanliness, professionalism or any of that, this is the place for you. If you do care about those things, you can pay about an extra $4 per meal and go to a different restaurant that actually puts effort into their place of business. The menus were absolutely disgusting, the paper was all crinkled up inside the plastic from being wet multiple times. They had stuff all over them. Menues don't cost that much guys, get them laminated or something. Also, I'm seeing a common thread in the other reviews, bad service. It seems like if you're a regular you get great service and maybe even better food. It didn't seem like it had anything to do with race, we are white, and one of the other parties was black and they got decent service but again, they are probably regulars. If they figure you're just passing through, they don't really care if you come back, because they know you're probably not going to be in the area again. The cash register area smelled like a dumpster. The front entry smelled like cleaner. Definitely a bit odd. If you want to eat here and you get grossed out by lack of cleaning, don't look up. The ceiling is absolutely disgusting. The lady that served us basically acted like she couldn't care less if we stayed or not. It also kind of seems like they don't really know what things are supposed to be. My wife ordered a montecristo, what she got was a ham and turkey sandwich on French toast. A Monte Cristo is supposed to be shaved ham and turkey on a hoagie roll, breaded, deep fried, and dusted with powdered sugar. My Philly cheesesteak was pretty good as far as taste, but it was huge chunks of steak on a hoagie roll and trying to keep it together was quite the struggle. A Philly cheesesteak is supposed to be chopped up steak, again, lack of effort. It seems like they have way too many things on their menu to be able to keep track of what's what and actually put any effort into any one item. In short, the food was definitely okay, the price was great, but the service was not. We've paid about the same price for much much...
Read moreYou probably know the good points already if you've read other recent reviews (A lot of negative ones precede a change of management.), so let's start with the penalty point. It's the bathroom access. We had two wheelchairs and were able to navigate and seat both, but the bathroom hallway is smaller than your living room closet (as are the bathrooms, by the way), with narrow doorways leading straight to the women's and right to the men's. A very narrow wheelchair could get into the women's, but with nowhere to turn, the men's is right out. It's such a sad oversight that thankfully didn't ruin our experience, but could easily ruin another's.
Also, the waitress (joint owner with her husband the chef, if I heard correctly) is a tiny, elderly woman who's- I hate to sound insensitive, but you have to understand- not only hunched over, but a human 90-degree angle with sore feet. We felt bad asking for drink refills and such. I've no problem with the elderly in the workforce, and I admire her efforts, but table-bussing demands a certain pep in one's step, so they ought to hire some help. Easier said than done, right now, I know . . . I'm not docking a star for this; it's just a point of concern.
I don't have a full "'round the table" segment this time (It was hard to keep it all straight when low on sleep. That's life.), but I recall beef tips (myself and one other), pork chops marsala, grilled chicken breast, baby beef liver and onions, and a big cheeseburger. Among the sides was an utterly delicious chicken and dumpling soup.
Everything was enormous! Only myself and one other finished our plates, having arrived extra hungry with no meals beforehand, and we were stuffed. The chicken breast, notably, was about triple the expected size! Moreover, everything was very tasty, and the meats were entirely tender sans a couple bites of ordinary gristle. They certainly know gravy, here, and they're not shy with it!
I took pictures, but since almost everything looked like a pile of gravy, it seemed useless to upload them. The presentation was by no means bad, but you're really coming here for flavor and volume,...
