My wife and I have been to Cook's Spice Rack before a few times and have always been pleased. The food was great and the seating area was clean and bright. I had the sausage omelet with home fries and the jalapeno toast, while the jalapeno toast was good it wasn't worth the extra dollar as I didn't taste any spiciness from the jalapeno. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich, french fries with coleslaw, she said the pork was just a bit dry but still good. We certainly will be going back as you know you will get a great meal for a good price.

I know my husband was trying to be sweet when he brought me lunch, but this isn't acceptable. This 1 piece of fish and fries was $10 as a lunch; he added fish at an extra cost; the fish sandwich is also $10. The fries were dry and I had to add sauce just to get them down. After driving the STL City SC, I was hungry, but disappointed. We've gotten fish on Fridays several times with several pieces of fish. I guess inflation and gas prices knocked off 1 piece. The fish even looked like tilapia instead of cat👀.

We first had their food at the Visions by JDR Holistic Fair at the Illinois State Fair Grounds. I feel in love with their chili, the Terlingua Red Chili is delicious. We try to stop in when we are in the area. Goldie and the rest of the staff treat guest like family. We had the Sweet Potato tots, I had Black Pot chili dog with shredded cheese and chips It was more than I could eat in one meal) and my husband had Hamburger Horseshoe with yellow and white cheese (he said it was soooo gooood!)

I tried the green chili. It was so flavorful and had protein in the cannoli beans. It's in a nice homemade chicken broth. It was not spicy but it was flavorful. We tried pork tenderloin horseshoe. It was moist and crunchy. Instead of fries we got homemade tater tots. Those are wonderful. I tried a brisket patty melt. So good delicious moist. I got half French fries and half homemade onion rings. And of course being the Springfield girl I had to have a side of the white cheese sauce. It is made with real monterey jack and real milk. Smooth wonderful texture and taste. Everything there is homemade. The owner was so nice and talked to us for quite a bit. Compared recipes. She has deep fried ribs. She has specials everyday. You can get the burnt ends of fajitas meat everyday. Large smoker in the back. Great place to go definitely...

This was my first time back to Cook's since they re-opened after COVID. My issue with the place is that the service has always been lacking. This time around, they were short-staffed. It took a while for someone to get to my table. It wasn't for lack of trying, they were just short-handed and relatively busy. I was surprised to see a couple of young girls there helping with the service that didn't seem to be of working age, but that's none of my business. I love the chili at Cook's and the food is never bad. I don't remember ever having bad food, but the service has always lacked whether it be staffing or just not able to meet the demands of...

I love the food there. Had a few questions about my ticket being I ordered by phone. I had a server belittle me in front of 7 people because I was Lost about a Togo container charge. I have never had this anywhere and tells me "everywhere charges for this". "I know". Um food service for years and that's new to me and quite a few people. Like I said food was excellent cudos to the kitchen staff. I send people there all the time and to get belittled over an honest question........ Bad business. I feel like nothing will happen,...
