J.T. Costelloe's Pizza Pub and Grill — Restaurant in Springfield

We’ve been going here for years and really enjoy the pizza and salad bar. We typically eat here once a week and usually between 8-9 pm. They are open until 10:30 on weeknights so one would expect the kitchen open and the salad bar still set between 8-8:45 when we ususlly arrive- we eat later especially in the summer.

The last three times this summer that we’ve been there on a regular weeknight (not a Friday night) between 8-9 pm, they have already tore down the salad bar and at least one time announced they closed the kitchen early. The kitchen closing early (before 9) has happened quite frequently to us over the last year.

Last night we walked in at 8:40 and the guy was literally taking down the salad bar when we walked in. That was it. We turned around and left. Monical’s had a great little salad for us and the pizza was pretty good as well. About the same price as Costellos.

Remarkable little place we've only discovered since Covid. They make the best, most crispy thin crust pizza I've ever had, with an abundance of ingredients, arrayed out the margin of the crust. Their menu mentions the quantity of pepperonis and weight of sausage they use, and it is obvious. Not a cheap pie, but well worth it. Last time I dined outside the pizza box, ordering a Chicago Combo sandwich: shaved roast beef with sliced home made sausage, on a roll with au jus. MAGNIFICENT! I'd order this again. Overall very impressed with a restaurant that is much more than just pizza, with many dishes to explore. I almost tried their 2/3 pound double burger, but that'll have to wait. Glad I ordered the Chicago Combo! Hope they get the salad bar...

Not to exaggerate or anything but this place is perfect. Honestly the best place in the Chatham/Springfield area. My husband and I come here almost every week and we’ve never had a bad or okay experience. It’s always been awesome. The servers are seriously wonderful and the food ALWAYS comes out perfectly. Spinach artichoke dip is the best appetizer just so everyone knows. The fries are the most perfect I’ve ever had. Best burger in the area. Cheese sauce for the fries is to die for.
