Mamis Mexican — Restaurant in Springfield

The food was great! On the other hand after waiting nearly an hour for our food, (other tables where going in and out the door) i noticed out waiter was a nervous wreck! He even offered to pay for our food, because for some reason the kitchen wasn't putting out his orders. After explaining it wasn't his fault, and everyone has a bad day. He did have relief. For some reason he had to leave before we can pay. He brought us our ticket and was not seen again. After about 20min of nothing we walked inside to see if we can pay for our meal, it was 9pm and we had 2 little kids so we were ready to go! After talking to the young girl at the door we were told our waiter had to leave and our table was given to (Hannah), so she went and got Hannah and ask to process our payment. Hannah responded with " They can wait" we explained we were already waiting 20min and have two babies can we just pay for it while we are talking right now, she then replied "No you can go back outside and wait til I come" then she walked away. The other girl informed us that "her mom is the owner and she is really rude to people and thinks she runs the place" also we ask if we leave a tip who would get it, and they replied it would go towards hannah and not our actual server (who was extremely nice and professional). So no we did not leave a tip for her because of her comments and how she acted towards a paying customer. We got seated a little before 7pm and didnt get food until 830pm and paid at 9pm. I was so disappointed tonight. The manager was less than kind to my family when we asked for a table for 10. She seated 10 chairs at two 4 top tables pushed together. When I asked for another table she became irritated with me and said she didn’t have another table. There were 5 clean tables throughout the restaurant. When she saw me looking around she said fine I’ll do it but I already told your son you’d have to wait. I said that’s fine, we can wait. She seated us anyway. Then goes on fussing at her employees for over seating this section. At this point we felt really unwelcome. During our meal a dead cricket appears on our table. My food had sour cream and lettuce and pico after I asked for none. It was sent back and returned with sour cream. We waited on drink refills for a long time. Then another adult finds a hair in his half eaten meal. The waitress says it doesn’t match anyone in their kitchen and throws it on the floor. Then our check comes and an 18% tip was added. So the person with hair in their food asks for a manager. She was again less than friendly. She said I was never told about a hair. Then she snatches the receipts and removes the tips. She fusses at our waitress. Then our waitress returned and dropped off the new tickets and never said a word to us. Then she never came back for our credit cards. I had to stop her to come again so we could pay and leave. She never spoke to us again after the manager...

Unfortunately this place has gone downhill big time, and after a couple recent very poor meals, I have decided I will not be returning. If anything, I’ll probably just go to get queso, because that at least has remained consistent (although the price has increased drastically). They have changed their food so much from when they first opened. I exclusively get chicken fajitas and chicken chimichangas. They recently changed their shredded chicken chimichanga recipe and it’s basically just bland unseasoned chicken, when before it was so so good - why would you change that? I started getting that over the chicken fajitas when they stopped (and/or changed) marinating the chicken for the chicken fajitas (it’s much dryer and more flavorless now), and the onions and bell peppers aren’t even cooked anymore. Again, why would you change that? I remember I used to get chicken fajitas and a large queso for right around $23, but now I go and get chicken fajitas and a small queso and it’s $30. For uncooked vegetables and flavorless chicken. That’s the reason for the poor review. I’d understand going up on your prices while keeping the quality the same, but that is just not the case. Honestly, I’m begging you to please fix this, and let me know when you do and I might give it another shot. For now, I’ll be going to Gordo’s, where I’m not munching on raw...
