Mario's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria — Restaurant in Springfield

We order from here somewhat frequently due to it being close to home. Almost every time we order something is wrong. This last time, we asked for two orders of wings - one traditional and one boneless. I even clarified the order before I hung up to make sure it is correct. When we got home we received two orders of traditional wings. I called and whomever I was passed to made it seem that I was an inconvenience - asking what 'exactly' I wanted. After clarifying I wanted my correct order of boneless. They remade the wings and we picked them up. Silly me didn't check to make sure they were boneless the second go round. Needless to say when I called back to tell them I have received traditional wings for the second time I was given many excuses and "they even looked like boneless when we cooked them".

Our 1st warning sign should have been the fact that we were able to walk in and get a table in a nearly empty section at 6 PM on Saturday. Service was slow... we were seated at 6:10 and we got out at 7:45. Two appetizers, three salads and a soup and four entrées. The food was - OK. Portions were large. The portobello mushroom appetizer was good, but the onion rings were soggy and overly greasy. The seafood lasagna was nondescript at best. The linguine with meat sauce was - OK. The cheese calzone was "missing something. Needed more spice." The sausage ravioli was good. The "Chipotle Alfredo" sauce was really a neat fusion.

Nothing was really wrong, noting was really outstanding either. But the bill was $87.00 for four of us - and for that price, we expect...

I was at Mario's yesterday with my old boss from Springfield ((Chatham location)) and my granddaughter. I took my granddaughter to use the bathroom which was gross and when we came back, she was standing in the booth. I happen to turn around and I saw a crockroach getting ready to crawl on her arm. The crockroach was on the back of the booth just walking along (which was a baby roach, and crawl to the back of the booth. I won't be back and definitely won't recommend. We already paid, the girls did offer a refund, but we denied a refund because I wanted to get out of there. I did let the girls know in the front...
