I feel compelled to share the most amazing and perfect first time experience I (we) had at this incredible restaurant. While traveling through St. Helena, on the spur of the moment, my friend and I decided to look up a nearby restaurant in which to have breakfast. Without ever hearing about the Forum, we decided to try it, and we were completely impressed beyond any expectation! We both ordered the Duck Confit Benedict, which was excellent, and after eating, we had the most delightful experience of all . . . a lovey and gracious woman came by our table to inquire how our meal was. Her name happened to be “Grace,” which conveyed her name perfectly! Grace informed us that the English muffins we just ate were made by a local bakery in St. Helena (Model) and they get them baked fresh each day. We continued to take advantage of Grace and inquired if she had any tips on places to visit on our short visit to St. Helena. Grace went beyond our expectations and was so informative and helpful sharing not just things to do this visit in St. Helena, but of future events in Napa/Sonoma County coming up and for us to look forward to. We both were delighted more than I can express! I can only hope that anyone reading this will experience the amazing kind of visit my friend and I experienced! I cannot convey enough just how much Grace made our experience at the Forum restaurant certainly worth it . . and...
Read moreAte here Saturday night of Memorial Day weekend--we were pleasantly surprised to see that it was maybe half full and was relatively a quiet restaurant, which we like.
Unfortunately in spite of it being mostly empty the service was extremely slow. Waited a good 15 minutes before being first approached by our server and it was pretty slow from there--including taking almost 15 minutes to bring an ice bucket out for the white wine, very slow to refill water glasses, etc. Disappointing overall.
The food was great, however. Really enjoyed the scallop risotto and the New York strip. The cheesecake was great as well.
Most disappointingly, when our check came I noticed that they had mistakenly neglected to charge us for the wine we had (about $150) and I pointed this out to the waitress. She just opened the folio holding my credit card and the bill and said "ok". She came back 10 minutes later and handed the folio back with my receipt and said "take care". Now, I wasn't expecting some big production, but a simple thank you for pointing out her obvious error would have been the polite thing to do, but no acknowledgement whatsoever. We could have easily paid the incorrect tab and left, causing them to miss $150 in revenue, but we did the right thing and weren't even thanked for it. I would have expected better from such an...
Read moreOur group of four adults and five children had the tasting menu for the grown ups and all the usual items for kids, chicken tenders, mac & cheese and the cheeseburger. We all, kids and adults, were very very happy with our meal. I'm sure the price will go up as I can only see this Napa restaurant only get more popular. But the tasting menus, meat or vegetarian, were under $100 and the wine pairing was only $50. So it was under $150 for five courses, that includes a generously sized amuse bouche. Ordering a la carte is also an option. At the beginning of the meal when we asked to do the tasting menu our server told us they like to surprise you with what you get to eat. It was kind of fun because when they bring you your meal, they don't tell you what the ingredients are unless you ask. Needless to say I'm incredibly happy with my meal.
Our server Barbara was very helpful and friendly, the auxiliary staff professional and quick and the bartender had nice recommendations and made some tasty cocktails.
The vibe is casual nice, I wouldn't wear shorts or flip flops but a nice collared shirt or sweater will do. The restaurant is one big room so it felt very spacious but the floral arrangements made it feel cozy and elegant in a modern way.
I would definitely...
