Golden House Chop Suey — Restaurant in St. Louis

I went at night and was the only one there at first; my order was ready in six minutes. The crab rangoon is excellent, perfectly crisp and the filling is good. However, the chicken in the chicken fried rice was quite sad. Dark and a bit chewy, it was terrible quality. The breading on the outside of the sweet and sour chicken was perfectly lightly crisp but the chicken itself was also poor quality. Thankfully smothering it in sauce mostly disguised that. Would definitely expect this low quality chicken from a much cheaper restaurant. The picture included here is a large order of sweet and sour chicken which was $9.25, which is ridiculous for both the quality and portion. Many other places would sell the same portion, with similar or better quality chicken, for $4.50 to $7.00. I did not receive the egg rolls I ordered and paid for. They had a sign that said they were not responsible for any mistaken orders once the customer had left the store. I guess I should have realized that meant this was a common problem and dug through the bag before leaving. I would definitely check my order before leaving if I went again. Probably the only reason I would go here in the future is because they are open later than a lot of other places. Average...

Just left from buying a special fried rice with gravy from here. I found the stick that ties a loaf of bread in my food under the gravy. It almost looked like a bean spout. When I took I­t­ back, the lady there laughed and said “no you didn’t find this in here” as if I made it up and wanted to drive back up there after being at home already. As you may know, chinamen sale Saint Pauls which includes bread, she lied and said they don’t have those sticks in their store. She was very unprofessional and has bad business. She said “haha you’re a new face”. Which I believe you should give the best service to new buyers. She was horrible and the food was horrible, especially the gravy and rice itself. I included a picture to show you all my experience. Customer service goes a long way and just how she handled the situation, I will never buy from there again....

The math aint mathing - I even said something, tried to show her my calculator and she kept saying “computer right! computer right! you wrong! you know nothing!”. She got ignorant with me and i was being peaceful & just trying to get back for the difference!

Also, there was a summer special: spend $45 and get one free crab Rangoon. When I asked for that, she said you have our crab rangoons in the bag - NOT FREE!!!

Would have left food & asked for a refund but i was hungry and had other people’s food...
