A letter to the owners assistant: Good afternoon Ashanta, I would like to say that JC Supper Club has been the most unprofessional experience I have ever had when doing business. The owner should let you represent him always because he is extremely rude and unprofessional. I thought that this location would be a nice location b/c of a reference from a friend and the initial contact being pleasant with you. As of Saturday 1/13/2018 my reviews of this business are completely negative. Upon talking to your manager Ms. Black she informed me that my decorator was able to come up and look at the space at 6pm b/c the party you all had scheduled didnât start until 8pm. So I had my decorator drive all the way from south st. louis and we arrived at 6:00pm to see that the party had already started (which was a waste of time). Then she was showing us the space while this party was going on which was alarming to me b/c I would be extremely upset as a paying customer to see that my event isnât completely private and you all have random people looking in the ballroom we paid for, so I removed myself b/c I felt uncomfortable and continued to talk her in walkway area. I had a list of questions b/c I noticed your contract is very vague. So she tells me that we are not booked for the bar area that we originally promised. She also informs me that my guests will be searched b/c the party is after 8pm. Nowhere on your contract does it say anything about parties being searched after 8pm, which I feel is something that should be mentioned (in the contract) b/c for me thatâs a deal breaker and is extremely tacky for a private event and I would have never signed with you all had I known that. Secondly, it wasnât revealed to me that you all did not serve the food to monitor for portion control, I assumed that you all did that, maybe its my fault for assuming but regardless of that the manager of your establishment says to me â your family shouldnât mind doing itâ. I am not paying my family I am paying you and that was not something you should say to a customer. After waiting for the owner, Reggie, for 40 minutes , after being told he was 10 minutes away I decided to leave after getting so upset. I call the location in the car and asked Ms Black am I able to get my money back she then says â I think soâ hold on âI donât know I donât want to lie and say you can if you cantâ, which tells me that you all donât have policies and procedures in place, you pretty much do what you want. I am asked to call the owner, after talking to Reggie about my issues, I told him that I am really uncomfortable with the whole search thing and I said that b/c my party arrives at 7:30pm I should be able to avoid that and his response is âby you trying to avoid people getting searched is alarming to meâ. To me he insulted me b/c he is insinuating that I am trying to do something inappropriate, when in fact I just want to have a nice event and be prepared and not have my guests being searched like they are at a club event sponsored by you all. I asked Reggie, if I decided to cancel what would happen. He says to me â I will give you 250 dollars back of the 550 you have paid, b/c you know Dana, and we love Dana. I said okay not being 100% sure if I wanted to move forward or not we got off the phone thinking the plans were still as scheduled. After sleeping on things and talking things over with my mom (the party is for), my mom doesnât like the situation so we chose cancel the event with you guys and the owner tells me that he doesnât care what he told me on Saturday about the 250.00 refund, today I can not have my money back. I told him that I am willing to forfeit the deposit b/c in normal business after 30 days thatâs what you lose unless otherwise stated and your contract mentions nothing about a deposit forfeiture or a cancellation policy so I assumed that I could get my money back no matter the timeframe. He said that he has ordered my food (for an event that is 2 weeks away and if thatâs the case, I donât...
Read morethis establishment is inconsistent with the food..they NEVER give u condiments or utensils UNLESS you ask..you still need to check your order if youâve asked because requests go unnoticed or intentionally ignored here!..the food is awesome at times..at other times, itâs mediocre..if you call to speak to someone, theyâre rude, youâre placed on hold, & never get to speak with the proper individual to handle your complaint..this has happened multiple times..Iâm just now writing a review because today was the last straw for me!..Iâve tried supporting local businesses & it never works out because their goal is to get the money while offering subpar food & customer service..I like exceptional service for BOTH..today was my final time patronizing this establishment..hopefully, in the near future they can rectify their issues & things will be great..they have the POTENTIAL..itâs the inconsistency for me..Iâll take my hard earned money...
