I wish I could give this place a -2. First thing, don't get your mouth set for anything on the online menu, just wait until you get to this dive and see what they have available. Second thing, don't expect to pay the price that's on the online menu. I only went to this restaurant for the meatloaf and cabbage, and to try out their dressing, which they didn’t have any of those. Third thing, I paid $57 for the worst meal I've had this year. I called before I left to ask if I could place an order on the phone (since the online ordering was not available). Whoever answered just said "No you may not" and hung up (wow, great customer service, I should have known then they weren't gonna have meatloaf.) I thought I'd arrived early enough in the day 2:30 to be getting lunch menu. But obviously, since my bill was $57, I guess I paid for dinner menu items, I definitely didn't pay the prices they showed online, I paid twice as much. When it comes to the food, the turkey wing had a weird vinegary flavor, the mac and cheese only had a layer of cheese on top, once you got past that pretty topping, there was just unsalted noodles. The black eyed peas just tasted like water. The flour wasn't cooked out enough in the chicken and dumplings, so it was more like just wet dough rather than dumplings. All the salt that all the other sides needed badly was used up in those salty greens, almost inedibly salty. The ratio of fruit to crust in the peach PIE, stop calling it a cobbler, was way off, like lots of dough, few peaches. And I don't know how they could call that mush banana pudding, it was very unpleasant, and I guess when they were making, someone forgot to put in the bananas! The yams and cornbread were good. I wasn't offered water, although menu says free water with each platter (and no, with good service, I shouldn't have to ask if it's listed as part of the meal).

I placed an online order for a tripe lunch meal and a double cheese burger lunch meal… placed my online order at 11:57am. It was accepted at 12:05…. It said it would take 30-35 minutes for completion . I arrived at 12:45 waited in the line to get to the cashier to pick up my order. My online order had not been prepared or even started. The woman was very rude and spoke to me as if I did something wrong. She said she doesn’t even know who accepted the online order she just got their then told me they don’t even “do online or over the phone order” however they have online orders on their website ! So I had to wait an additional 25 minutes for me food to be prepared .I wasn’t not apologized to nor offered any consultation for my inconvenience ! I wasn’t even offered a drink while I wait my additional time! This is so ghetto an unprofessional. This is why ppl don’t want to support black business because our own ppl can’t even act right!! Smh The food here is t even as good as it used to be and they have the nerve to be rude 😡😡😡 and you top it off after I waited an additional time they then tell me they don’t have any cooked tripe when I called at 11 am and asked them if they had tripe today and they told me yes!!! This place is a ghetto contraption!!! Rude and unprofessional … I will NEVER EVER SPEND A DIME HERE AGAIN!

Tried Mom’s Soul Food Kitchen & Catering for the first time unfortunately, it was a waste of $32.20🤦🏾‍♀️ While the service was good, the food just wasn’t it. The flavors were way off from what I’m used to. The dressing had a strong, almost vinegary taste that overpowered everything. The mac and cheese tasted like it was made with cheap cheese and lacked any real seasoning. The ribs? Tough not enjoyable at all. 😩 There are signs everywhere saying no refunds, only exchanges, but honestly, I wouldn’t even want to exchange this. The whole plate went straight to the trash. I wouldn’t feel right giving this to someone in need. Disappointing all around. My daughter liked the greens the sweet potatoes were just okay. Her chicken was good plate just wasn’t worth 18.00. The restaurant is extremely hot not only for the customers but for the workers. Adding black pepper didn’t work. I’ll say try them for yourself maybe I caught them in a bad day.

Tried Mom’s Soul Food Kitchen & Catering for the first time unfortunately, it was a waste of $32.20🤦🏾‍♀️ While the service was good, the food just wasn’t it. The flavors were way off from what I’m used to. The dressing had a strong, almost vinegary taste that overpowered everything. The mac and cheese tasted like it was made with cheap cheese and lacked any real seasoning. The ribs? Tough not enjoyable at all. 😩 There are signs everywhere saying no refunds, only exchanges, but honestly, I wouldn’t even want to exchange this. The whole plate went straight to the trash. Line out the door on a Sunday. I'm visiting STL over a weekend. One of the servers was grumpy accusing me of ordering something I blatantly did Not Order. She was trying to clown me in front of the patrons I didn't go for it. I asked if they had ribs available and the one cook said "nope" but the server said "nope" jokingly back to me, but took the guy behind me his order while not asking me what else I'd like??? but the guy in front of me ordered the same rib meal. Check this... He waited 10-15 mins before they told him there wasn't any more ribs available as I too once again asked if there were any ribs because I seen the young man getting perturbed at their communication with all of us in line. Re-Ordered meatloaf with mac n cheese and greens super good👍🏾 they've been there so long customer service is not their thing. It can be off putting to out of towners whom give going to that particular neighborhood a shot, they sure need it Family. I would indeed go again. But I'll try some of the other spots there in STL before I do that again. But Yes the food was very good 👍🏾 even though they didn't have what i originally...
