The chef is my son and some would claim that I'm biased. Yes, I am, but I'm also "brutally honest." I'm absolutely in awe of how incredibly delicious all the food is. It's a relaxed, casual environment, and most foods are served on a parchment paper-lined tray or basket, but presentation is stellar. On our trips to Smoke 'Em Barbecue Joint, we've had smoked brisket, pulled pork, dry rubbed and smoked wings, pork, collard green, and mac & cheese egg rolls, rice and hash, prime rib sandwich, fried quail, collard greens, French fries, rice and hash, tuna tacos and brisket tacos, and smoked chicken. So you can see, I've shared in eating a lot of things on the menu and EVERYTHING is excellent. The chef and his wife live in St. Matthews. This is a locally owned and operated, family-friendly, establishment which I...

This was our second time dining here. The first time was great everything we had was awesome. But this day on November 5 was terrible. We ordered two sweet teas and the egg rolls to start. First the tea was watered down and not very sweet. I feel that’s an important thing to mention when the tea cost over five bucks. The egg rolls were terrible. My wife found a large piece of what looked like cartilage and was inedible. After this we got our pulled pork sandwiches. Both our sandwiches were filled with fatty inedible pulled pork. When the waitress came by to bring us the bill we showed her what was in our food. She just said I’ll let them know in the back. That was it not sorry or let’s take some off the bill. So we won’t be back. Don’t know if they were having an off day or...

Amazing experience!! So glad we found this new gem! My husband got the smoked wing, pulled pork, brisket, rice and hash, and fries!! These guys know how to smoke! Everything was perfect. Most of the time you don’t get other options at a bbq spot. But the Ahi Tuna Wantons were something special, full of flavor, the tuna was perfect, sauce was sweet. There was a sea bass special you could get on a sandwich or with a mushroom cream pasta! Never would I imagine pasta at a bbq place, but so glad I did. These chefs are talented! It’s in a super cute house. Love you can see into the kitchen. Staff was so friendly. Can’t wait to return and try the...

By far our favorite restaurant in all of Orangeburg and Calhoun county. It has quickly become our regular date place. The staff and owner are friendly, service is quick and you feel like more than a customer. Everything we've had has been amazing. Brisket tacos, carnitas tacos, the burger, the BBQ egg roll stuffed with pork, Mac & cheese and collards, the Mac n cheese, prime rib special and salad, chocolate chip cookie and cheese cake.. It's all good and you won't be disappointed. I don't even like collards much and I can't get enough of the egg rolls. Support local, support small business.

What an amazing place. Everything was so good, everyone there was super nice and service was prompt. The Cole slaw with fresh dill is so good. The polled pork is not at all greasy and their sauces are very good. I tried the sweet BBQ sauce and the golden, which is a SC thing. The tomato pie had slices of tomatoes topped with an egg/cheese mixture. A southern quiche, LOL. They had classic rock playing and in the artwork on the walls. Nit at all your typical barbecue joint.
