Phenomenal food and huge portion sizes! You can get 2-3 meals out of each dish! French onion soup is great, and highly recommend an order of eggplant fries for a starter! The fresh warm bread is awesome. We had chicken parm, eggplant parm, chicken and broccoli alfredo, and basil’s veal. Every dish was great. Service was also exceptional, always stopped by the refill our drinks and check if we needed anything.

Bar area was busy so we sat in the quieter dining area. The chicken bacon ranch wrap was good, but I was a little disappointed by the huge mouthful of ranch, the abundance of lettuce and the lack of chicken. Oversell service was great, drinks were good

The waitress nor the chef nor the kitchen knows what type of oil they use. My cousin was hosting the celebration of life party for a loved one and she has a peanut Treenut allergy. The waitress said that they don’t know what type of oil they use… Which I thought was odd because I know whether I’m buying sunflower, coconut, vegetable, olive, peanut, or almond oil.? I’m assuming that they must reuse the oil from all different types of dishes so they can’t really say if there’s any residue of peanut in it because they probably just keep mixing the oil together from the fryolaters. The waitress said that the fries would be in that same mystery oil as well. She didn’t use the word mystery. She just said it would be fried in the same oil.. so my cousin couldn’t get anything fried instead she got two meatballs, which were literally the size of baseballs. If not bigger… The portions enormous the fettuccine Alfredo. My daughter got was about the size of a spare tire! My big stuff was delicious and super filling. The potato skins were yummy. Everyone seemed to be happy with their meals. No Coca-Cola only Pepsi. Boo. I was satisfied with my ginger ale. The service was prompt enough for our party of eight.. clam chowder soup was delicious bread and butter was offered. Very large portions lots of extra plates. Everything they brought came on two plates. The table soon became overwhelmed with big plates. All in all it was a good meal nice atmosphere I would go again. I probably wouldn’t go if I had any allergies though because they don’t know what they’re using to cook so that gives me a little cause...

It’s definitely not the worst place I’ve ever been but the people of Stafford Springs have low standards and talk this place up too much due to it being the only “decent” sit down place in town. Alex is abrasive, most of the servers are lovely however.

Every time I’ve gotten food here there’s always something wrong with it. I typically get takeaway. The flavor combinations in the salads are not good. Always too much onion, gross iceberg lettuce and too much Gorgonzola slapped on everything. Use romaine, not iceberg. The warm pita is a nice touch but often times I’ve received the wrong dressing and one time I got back to my location before realizing they didn’t give me dressing or utensils at all. Got nachos for takeaway one time and wouldn’t make the mistake again. Little to no jalapeños, everything just slapped on top and they didn’t give me the salsa or sour cream it was supposed to come with so I probably ate 1/4 of dry, limp, and flavorless nachos.

Another time I got bone-in wings and they were dry and overcooked and did not come with extra Buffalo with the wings having been tossed very minimally in sauce. The “boneless wings” or Buffalo tenders are always very good however. Their blue cheese and ranch dressings are very good.

Another time I came here with my mother and a friend and three of the waitresses were side eyeing us and whispering because we were visiting and not in a rush. We weren’t even there for long. Felt like we were being ushered out on a slow week night.

Overall, I’ve given Basil’s many chances and won’t spend my...

Just went to my favorite restaurant Basil's in Stafford Ct. I went with family members who all love Basil's. Up until today we have never had a bad experience we have used them for catering my Daughters bridal shower and wedding and the food is always excellent. Today we arrived with 5 people one 1(1) with a wheel chair. We went in told them how many people and the fact one person was in a wheel chair and were told 20-25 minute wait, no issue. After about 20 minutes I went back in to check on the table. The lady at the front stated should only be a few more minutes, just waiting for the booth to clear. I asked her for a table as the booth would not fit 5 people and 1 of them is in a wheel chair. She stated that i could put you at a high top table. I again stated how is that going to work with a person in a wheel chair. She then looked at me and stated "well I got nothing for you" in a very rude tone in voice and just dismissed me and went on to another customer. At this point I asked for the manager and she stated "I am the manager. I turned and walked out. As I was talking to my family outside 2 customers exited the restaurant and stated "it was wrong how she treated you" they said they were sitting at the table and heard the whole thing and could not believe how rude she was. The food is good but not good enough to return and deal with...
