China Cafe — Restaurant in Stallings

This restaurant once a staple of the culinary life of Mathews, offers a healthy dose of subpar Chinese garbage with a healthy dose of nationalism . I have been a patron of this restaurant for over a decade now. The new management team is awful. I have never been so embarrassed in a public setting. The service was indicative of a group of people who willfully disrespect American Culture. So sad.

For over a decade, this restaurant was a cornerstone of Mathews' culinary scene. However, recent visits have revealed a significant decline in both quality and service. The new management has failed to uphold the restaurant's previous standards, resulting in offerings that fail to meet expectations. The service was particularly disappointing, characterized by inefficiency and a lack of professionalism. Additionally, there were disturbing instances of racial discrimination towards Black, Native American, White and Latino patrons, which is unacceptable and deeply troubling. The food was really good the one time that I ate here. More importantly, to me, it appears to be a small family business.

One of the things I noticed, was one of the gentleman that was working there came out while I came in to check on the food and was helping his son do some school work.

I seen lots of smiles, and lots of love, and that shows up in the food unquestionably !

I am not supporting this place because they’re a small businesses because of the natural energy in the place, reasonable prices, fast service, and really good food .

I just really like the energy. This place is a family owned business that puts a great deal of energy in family and that warmed my heart..

I’ve only ate here once when I was working in the area and got it on the ride home, but the food was phenomenal .

We have been eating here for a couple of years and it was the best around- until very recently:/ Their prices went up and the food quality went down. Very disappointed in the business style that they found a way to cut corners during this pandemic. I get it, but it's competitive out there and lots of other take out places to choose from. They should have kept what's always worked and kept my family coming back. Specifically, they stinged on the chicken fried rice. They took out the egg and added a ton of rice. The Orange chicken and general Sao dish is Chicken breaded and fried typically. But last night we found there to be almost NO chicken at all but instead breaded fried balls. What little chicken we found was terribly chewy. The Mongolian beef was so so chewy I chewed it up and spit out every piece.
