Taste "E" Freeze — Restaurant in Stanberry

This was our second time to give this place a chance, and like the first time last summer, the hamburger and cheeseburger we ordered were lukewarm/room temperature, clearly evident that the thin patties (like McDonald's patties) were not freshly cooked. It was as if they might have been pre-cooked and microwaved. Certainly was not worth the cost of $5 each. Unfortunately, I could only take 2 small bites of the hamburger before having to stop because of getting a stomach ache. Service attendant who took our order was friendly, and it was evident from the 5 other customers we saw while waiting that this place seems to be more popular for its ice cream and sweet treats. Taste “E” Freeze was a pleasant stop for an ice cream treat. I was surprised to find non-ice cream items on the menu! It was definitely a nostalgic stop. Ordering at one window and pick-up at another.

The picnic tables are wonderful for those who stay to enjoy the food. I loved my butterscotch dipped cone, my son enjoyed his marshmallow shake, and my hubs enjoyed a peanut butter malt. I love this place. There is no decent takeout food, anywhere in King City, Missouri, but the town next door Stanbury has a lot of wonderful things. And one of them is the Taste E Freeze.
