Rita's Twisty Freeze — Restaurant in Standish

I’m so disappointed that this place has gone so downhill. Was rang up over $10 more than it was supposed to be, the ice cream is so soft it was pretty much completely melted before my mother got even 2 bites out of it, inaccurate prices on the signs according to the employees, etc. this used to be our favorite treat place and now we will not be returning.

Edit: also got my pupp one of the “doggie bowls” here yesterday. Seeing a doggie bowl on their menu you’d think that’s ok for your pet to have right? It’s not! My poor girl has been sick all night! Most dogs are lactose intolerant come to find out and should not have ice cream. But when it’s advertised somewhere I guess I wouldn’t think it’s actually not good for your pet to have. Just putting this out there so that you’re aware that this may also make your furry friend ill as it did mine. This was probably bad dog parenting on my end but seeing an option for your pet I guess thinking it’s something unsafe for them really wouldn’t...

Last summer and the summers before Rita bought it.. It was great!!! But i don't know what the deal is this summer. Its just not good. We've been there 3 different times so far and it has been a not so good experience each time. The first time I ordered a chicken sandwich and it was burnt to a crisp. The second time they never gave us a drink (i picked it up for a friend and didn't realize it was missing til it was too late) . Then the third time we went there i ordered a large cheese fry with ketchup. So i got my food went to my car and opened it and no ketchup. So i went to the window to get ketchup.. They argued with me about the ketchup.. Then finally gave me 1 container instead if the usual 2. I don't know anymore. But on the bright side... THEIR ICE CREAM...

Staff always has something to say about what you order. I ordered a soft serve last night at around 8:30pm. The girl making it said to the girl taking orders "ugh, your making the next one!" Then she trys handing me an ice cream cone that is melted and falling over. She then says "this is going to be really hard getting this in a sugar cone." I opted to just have the ice cream in a cup with the cone on the side. The cup was overflowing with the melted ice cream. It was not hot out, scary to think what it would be like in warmer weather. We haven't had a pleasant experience there all season. This is disappointing as we just live a mile away. We will make the trip to Omer or Sterling...
